5.0 out of 5 stars The quite a guide on OFDM theory and applications
I found this book very diverse and rich. It covers the theory of OFDM and continues with a very excellent through explanation of WLAN system and mentiones the uwb, adsl and wimax.

Theory and application sides of OFDM and multi-carrier communications has never been melted like this,

3.0 out of 5 stars Overall Basics Covered...BUT with extreme brevity
This book attempts to cover all basic theory and practical of OFDM. It covers historical developments, future developments, the basic theory of OFDM, as well as concepts used with OFDM such as the equalization, pilot tones, and cyclic prefix methods. However, (partially due to the many on-going research projects in the area) most of the discussion is extremely terse...

This review is from: Multi-Carrier Digital Communications - Theory and Applications of OFDM (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: TRANSMISSION, PROCESSING AND) (Hardcover)
This book attempts to cover all basic theory and practical of OFDM. It covers historical developments, future developments, the basic theory of OFDM, as well as concepts used with OFDM such as the equalization, pilot tones, and cyclic prefix methods. However, (partially due to the many on-going research projects in the area) most of the discussion is extremely terse. It is often necessary to look at the reference and other papers in order to get full understandings of certain topics. Hopefully as OFDM develops there will be another edition which has more depth.

1.0 out of 5 stars The book is rubbish, October 20, 2009

I am not sure why the other reviewers are glorifying a book that throws down equations without explaining any of their terms. Essentially, the authors try to cover a lot of material, but none are covered in great detail. I would stay clear of this and stick to another to learn more on OFDM and MCM.

This is a good guide on OFDM and WLAN technology. It gives more than what we see from standards.

4.0 out of 5 stars it is a good book on OFDM and WLAN, October 19, 2004
I recently bought this book and I found a comprehensive content on OFDM and related technologies. It starts with wireless channels and continues with the building blocks of OFDM and then talks about wireless Lan including 802.11, Hiperlan both mac and physical layers, Adsl, wimax and uwb. As a researcher i will leverage the illustrations and formulations.
