4.0 out of 5 stars very pretty
At the promotional price of $24.99 that I paid for this necklace, it was more than worth the price. The pearls have good luster, minor blemishes, and are evenly graduated. The multi-colored pearls might not be for everyone, but I like it for a less formal, yet still classic look. The necklace is knotted between each pearl. 3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap necklace
You get what you pay for. Don't expect a gift for your girlfriend or wife. It is more for a child, by size and by finishing.

(This traditional method of stringing pearls prevents the pearls from flying everywhere if the strand is broken.) The only criticism I have is that the stringing seems a bit tight, and there are slight kinks in the necklace. I'm waiting to see if it loosens up a bit with hanging so that it drapes better. If not, I'll restring it, which is not a problem if you know how. (If you had to pay a jeweler to restring, it might cost more than it's worth.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Luster, June 3, 2008

I purchased these Pearls as a Lightening Deal for $24.99. These Pearls are worth every penny and more. They have a wonderful luster and I really like the pink/purple hues the pearls have. Great for casual wear. It also comes with a very durable buckle/clasp. Check out my Chihuahua in the item images displaying the necklace - noticed the variety of the pink/purple shades and the shine of the Pearls.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty, but not perfectly strung, November 25, 2009

This review is from: Multi-Color Pastel Graduated Freshwater Cultured Pearl Necklace with Sterling Silver Clasp (4-8mm), 18" (Jewelry)
This was a great price and I was suprised at the nice quality of the individual pearls, but, the stringing of the pearls lacked uniformity in arrangement of color. There were many darker colors on one side making the whole necklace look off-balance. This piece can only be viewed as a "fashion" piece and not as an heirloom to pass down, but still worth looking into.

It seems to me that it is shorter than 18 inches. I haven't put a ruler to them, but I know how my 16 1/2inch necklaces fall and I would estimate this one at 16 and 1/2 to 17 at most. Just beware if you have a larger neck or would like it to fall lower. Perhaps it was just the strand I got, but I also notice that the graduation was not very even (some pearls toward the center were slightly smaller than some of those toward the clasp). Also note the 8mm measurement refers to the largest center pearl, the ones closer to clasp are about a third that size. However, all this is only noticible with very close inspection and, like I said, maybe it's just a problem with the one I recieved. When I wore them for the first time I recieved many compliments. The pearls are more lustrous than I thought I could get for this price, have very few blemishes and are of very pretty coloring (from cream to light pink to light violet). Overall, I am happy with this purchase.

This review is from: Multi-Color Pastel Graduated Freshwater Cultured Pearl Necklace with Sterling Silver Clasp (4-8mm), 18" (Jewelry)
I purchased this necklace earlier this month as a Gold Box Deal and it was well worth that naughty minute at work. The pearls are lovely and perfectly graduated. The colors are perfect for a casual-nice look and are perfect for work.

The only con is the length of the strand and it is a personal bugaboo for me. At 18" it just fits my neck, which is what it is supposed to do. I would prefer a 19" string but recognize I will need to special order with a jeweler.

I was amused by the packing of the pearls--I suspect that most of Amazon's jewelery is packaged this way: in a plastic zip-lock bag, placed in a "nice" little velveteen bag, placed in a gift box with a "cotton" pad. I first thought that this was overkill but now realize that it is possibly the only way to keep the pearls, and other jewelery, from damaging itself during transit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Oh So Pretty, June 20, 2008

Purchased these pearls as a bday gift for an 18 y/o. The gift presentation ~ nice blue box with the blue velvet bag resting atop the box cushion ~ Perfect. I am extremely pleased with the appearance (high lustre, nice pastel colors) quality (graduates nicely, tightly strung) and packaging.
Price was great. Would purchase again if I need another gift (I am a white or black pearl wearer, no pastels for me)

I got this necklace for my daughter's graduation. I had just got it and while I was putting it around her neck it broke. This is a very cheap necklace. I sent it back the same day I got it and requested a refund. I would give this a negative number if I could.

It's a pretty piece that goes with pretty much everything and can be worn as an everyday kind of jewelry. The color and luster is lovely. I actually own two strains (got them as different "deal of the day" items) and wear them together when I want a more dramatic effect.

Tiffany's they are not, but these pearls are great for the frequently discounted price of around $25. Quality seems good - although they are strung a little tight for my tastes - and color and lustre is above expectation.
