i got this for my grandma so she could open bottles of water and other drinks with small plastic lids. worked on the newer tiny caps. the teeth inside are angled to give good grip but not sharp enough to hurt you. i posted a picture of it with a small bottle cap inside.
i also uploaded a video. it's an unopened bottle and you can hear the snap of the plastic seal.

I have severe arthritis in both hands and opening bottles was impossible! I had a different brand of this kind of cap opener some years ago and I used it multiple times a day - and it made my life so much easier! Then - it disappeared and I went crazy trying to find the same one. Well, that wasn't to be found but when I saw this on Amazon I ordered 4 (to start). IT WORKS JUST AS WELL AS THE OLD ONE DID! Have now given them to friends who also cannot live without them now and will continue to order them to give to friends who need a little 'hand help'. I have not used them for prescription bottles but water/soda/salad dressing/etc. all open easily (and painlessly) using this little gadget.

I am a pharmacist and frequently have to open safety caps...hundreds of times per day, in fact. We tried this device and it was not suitable for our purpose. It may help with other types of caps but not the saftey caps we use.

Relatively small, perfect for opening those water bottles with tiny, impossibly tight caps. Had searched earlier in stores for small twist cap opener, but found none.

They have once again reduced the size of the caps on water and seltzer bottles. They are now so small that it is often hard to get a grip on them. This small tool is ideal for that purpose. We have a large Good-Grips jar opener, which also works, but I feel like I am using a sledge hammer where a tack hammer is called for. This is an ideally designed single purpose tool.

I recently bought two of these to help with opening small water and fruit juice bottles where the lids are so tiny and difficult to open that it isn't even a question of strength but being able to hold on to them in the first place.

I found that one of the Twist Caps works fantastically and requires no effort whatsoever. The other does not grip the lids as well and often I have to resort to other means to get a bottle to open.

Bottom line: When it works, it works great. But there appear to be variations in the manufacturing process that make some of these work not as well. I would still buy this again but would also immediately return one that doesn't do the job as well. 3.5 stars if that were possible.

This works excellent for opening water bottles. I have a lot of pain and weakness in my hands and often can't open them. With this device, i can open them no matter what shape my hands are in. I just wish they made one for a little bigger for jar lids. This isn't big enough to open a standard canning jar lid--the size is just short of it.

I highly recommend it for smaller lids/caps.
