light is like a mini bright light. its great. it has a switch on the cord near the light to turn off & on. I used it last night & it aims well & lights up my e-reader beautifully. I have a fairly thick headboard & it just fits. my headboard is probably about 2 inches wide. the clamp has rubber countoured pads which lock it in place on the edges of the headboard. I love this light.

This clip on lamp is not as it appears in the photo. It is very, very small. Read the measurements carefully so you won't be fooled by the picture. The company was willing to take it back, but they did not offer to pay for shipping and handling. So, I decided to cut my losses and keep it - for what I don't know.
