I was pretty excited about this tray for many reasons, not the least of which is the little fan to cool my clunky computer down while on my lap. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the product once it arrived. First, one of the blades on the fan was clearly broken off. Broken off and in fact placed deliberately in the drawer that comes attached to the stand. Not a huge deal because the fan still works, but suspect all the same. After I set the stand up, it was obvious that the stand had been used. The cup holder looked a little dirty and the cut out in the center of the stand was broken in a few places.

Buyer beware of the legs on this stand. I think I could have worked around this but it should be noted that the legs aren't really stable if you adjust them using the little knobs. It's nice that the height can change, much like it's nice that the surface of the stand can be propped up for different viewing angles, but it just isn't all that stable as it's presently constructed. If you don't have an obviously flat surface or if you move this around a lot, I could potentially foresee a little unpleasantness trying to readjust on the fly. It should also be noted that the surface that can be lifted really only fits a laptop 15 inches or smaller -- my little (but heavy) 11 inch fits pretty much just right. Still, all this could be forgivable for most folks including myself, I'd think, if the darned thing wasn't seemingly mishandled by a prior owner before it got to me.

I do like the concept of this tray though (bamboo, the fan, the mini-drawer, the lift-capable surface) and am still considering reordering to see whether I just received a dud -- it depresses me that I have to bother sending it back in because it came used though. Design flaws aside, that's just downright bad business.
