5.0 out of 5 stars Countries That Are Included, July 16, 2008
This review is from: The Multicultural Game Book (Grades 1-6) (Paperback)
Countries that are included...Africa: Botswana, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Zaire, Ghana, Morocco, North Africa, South Africa, West Africa; Asia: Afghanistan, Russia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Vietnam; Australia and New Zealand; Europe: Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden; North America: Canada, Guatemala, Mexico, Trinidad, United States; South America: Brazil, Chile, Tierra del Fuego...I used this book very successfully for a multicultural-themed camp program with students in K-5th. What can I say, as a teacher on a tight budget, I appreciate knowing as much as possible about a book before I spend my own money on it :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Multicultural Resource, December 29, 2008
This review is from: The Multicultural Game Book (Grades 1-6) (Paperback)
An excellent resource book that I use to teach a Multicultural Games unit. We explore the purpose of games in both past times and the present using these games. The book has interesting background information included and I expand this with mapping activities and having students find "interesting" facts about the people in the countries of origin.

The games have a large percentage of strategy games that are good for developing thinking skills and planning ahead. Some of the games are the origins of popular games played today such as Sorry and Checkers which lets us compare and contrast the games. There are also games that involve physical activity.
