Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

To encourage students' research projects across the curriculum and across cultures, this handbook for librarians and teachers is organized first by subject (holidays, science, sports heroes, food facts, literature, etc.). The second section, on cultural searches, includes separate chapters on Hispanics, Native Americans, African Americans, Women, Asian Americans, and European Immigrants, with subthemes on famous people and landmark events. For each chapter there are several recommended reference books with detailed annotations, followed by reproducible question sheets, and a key to the answers and where to find them. It's a pity that Web sites aren't included, but this will still be a useful resource for quiz games and holiday celebrations, as well as for more in-depth classroom research. Hazel Rochman
