My daughter got a mini/party favor checker board and seemed to enjoy as we played it and she learned the rules of checkers.
I ordered this right after we played with the mini board. The size is perfect! We sit on the floor at the bottom edge of the bed (or wherever) and play. I think she has a better overall view of the board due to the size. I see her poring over the board/rug and considering her next move while clearly seeing the entire area of play.
The size also makes it easier for other family members (brother and mommy) to sit around and see what's happening while they wait for their turn.
The rug and pieces are rugged and will likely last for years. It comes with a sealable plastic bag to hold the rug and pieces.
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED... and I will likely purchase again as a gift for others.

I bought 2 of these for my classroom because my kids are SOOO into checkers. They love playing the large version of the game!

For some reason, finding a decent quality checkers game board is a little bit of a challenge. However, for a family with children, this one is great.

The "board" itself is a rug-type material as described on the item's page. It is durable and large. The checker pieces are also good size and seem sturdy.

This game is easy to roll up and place out of the way in our living room. It also came with a good, sturdy plastic bag inside which you can store the "board" and the pieces of you so choose.

When we want to play, we just unroll it (or take it out of the bag) and get started - it's that easy! If you are nostalgic for those days from your childhood where you played games on the floor with your siblings or parents, then this game might bring back some of those memories.

It is attractive, well-made and easy to store. Checkers itself is somewhat of a simple game, but great fun for kids or kids-at-heart!

This checkers set is perfect for toddlers. The key to this set is that, unlike a slick game board, the pieces will not slide around, making it frustrating for little ones to keep track of their pieces. My five year old wants to play this game every day, and he often beats me if I'm not paying attention. It's great for teaching strategy. Because of this, we're getting ready to try "No Stress Chess", which I'm ordering for Christmas...

My family went to the store a few weeks ago to buy a checker game as my 8 year old had become very interested in the game. I was really disappointed to find that all the games were so small--not exactly something you would use for a family fame night. So I decided to look online for a larger game. I was surprised to find this! It was much better than what I was looking for and at a good price. I ordered it and love it! I love how big it is. And the storage bag it comes with has five other games you can play with the checkers, which is a great way to keep the fun going. My daughter loves this game. So glad we found it!

My son who just turned 5 loves playing with this jumbo checker set and it is helps with his younger siblings not being able to swallow the pieces. I would recommend this product very pleased with purchase.

purchased for an upcoming beach trip, it was a hit. pieces are sturdy and the "board" was able to shake out sand. I would recommend.

This is a great game for beginners. I also liked the fact that I don't have to worry about my 2 year old choking on the peices. We are very happy with this toy.

I got this game for my six year old grandchildren and they love it. It is a fun floor game and it has instructions for playing checkers in different ways from the original game. Best of all the pieces are large so they are not easily lost.

You get what you see. Very fun for everyone =)The size makes learning for smaller children a bit more exciting.
