Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Design a book to work like a computer interface? With icon guides, lots of color, plenty of illustrations, and just the right amount of text? Multimedia Demystified takes a decidedly graphic approach, like a Macintosh, in explaining how to think about multimedia. In three parts, this book starts off wisely by explaining how it works, with icons representing different audiences and multimedia participants, from clients to artists to writers. Twelve categories of projects are analyzed in the second part, while the last part describes the process of inventing multimedia. Useful appendixes point to other resources, as well as indexing interviews and case studies described in the text. Overall, you'll find Multimedia Demystified an excellent place to think about the many tasks inherent in multimedia, the kinds of expertise you'll need, and the costs involved. A realistic yet entertaining guide to the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for any project developer, May 1, 1998
This review is from: Multimedia Demystified: A Guide to the World of Multimedia from Apple Computer, Inc. (Random House/Newmedia Series) (Paperback)
I first encountered this book in a masters course at FSU. After reading it I got that excited feeling that I get when I encounter an astounding book. I was sick and tired of computer books that are product driven and programming content crazy. I hadn't seen any books tell you what you could do with this programming you just learned. This book shows you the steps it takes to develop your idea, from knowing your audience to post-production. Now you can learn not only that techie stuff everyone else does now you can know what to do with it.
