4.0 out of 5 stars My dog loves this toy
Big dogs tend to love plush toys, but they rarely last more than 10 minutes, by which time the squeaker is broken and all the stuffing is out. When Mr. Bill says, "Oh No," my dog thinks it's a riot. He throws Mr. Bill in the air and across the room instead of ripping his head off. This toy lasted 3 whole weeks, and my dog barely put it down in all that time. I bought...

1.0 out of 5 stars terrible toy for dogs
I was given this toy as a gift for my dog for the holidays. After only a few minutes of play I noticed my dog chewing on something crunchy. I was in shock to see that inside was a plastic box with little batteries, springs, speaker and other small metal parts. I can not believe a company would make this for dogs. I didn't know this was a dog toy. I didn't buy it for my dogs. I saw it one day in a store and it cracked me up. I didn't buy it then, I came home and ordered it some time later on amazon.com. I bought it for my adult son for Christmas. I will warn him not to chew on it.

I don't know why such a simple toy would be such a hit, but it's one of their favorites! My dogs will pick it out of a pile of other toys.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute, but does not last long., July 13, 2007

This was actually the 3rd sock monkey that I have purchased, so I should have known better, but my little dachshund just loves them.Unfortunately, within 2 days, the stuffing comes out and I have to throw it away because I don't want the puppy to choke on it.I have now learned my lesson and just made him a substitute sock monkey out of old socks.I fill the sock with old socks, so no choking on the batting.Guess what? He loves it and it hasn't come apart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Bill says "Oh, Noooo!" My dogs says "Oh, YES!", December 18, 2010
This review is from: Multipet Plush Dog Toy, Mr. Bill (Misc.)
I bought the Mr. Bill doll on a whim one day, and it turned out to be a great decision. I got the doll for my one year old, eighteen-pound dachshund/terrier mix. She absolutely LOVES her Mr. Bill. And my whole family cracked up when they saw her playing with him. Every time she bites him and he says his famous line, she stops dead in her tracks, drops him and tilts her head sidways just STARING in confusion. As soon as the "Oh, Nooooo!" is over she goes right back tossing and tugging. He is easily her favorite toy and she even carries him to bed.
Another thing I like about the toy is that besides the funny factor, it is quite sturdy for a plush toy. The seams appear to be sewn VERY well. Even after many sessions of vigorous rough tugging, our Mr. Bill has only suffered a few minor "injuries". The tears are easily fixed with a quick bit of hand stitching. (The biggest rip actually came from my weimaraner/labrador mix who, unfortunately, has a penchant for de-stuffing all things fluffy!)
Now about the voicebox. The voicebox is the only real concern one could have with the toy. However, with proper judgement and a little common-sense you can decide whether or not this toy is right for your pet. If u have a dog that is an aggressive chewer of toys and/or is prone to swollowing non-food objects then I suggest you pass this toy over. Also I do not recommend this toy for most big dogs because, normally wih big dogs come more powerful jaws. And strong bites can crush the battery powered voicebox inside. This toy should also be used under supervision to avoid accidents.
Overall though, I do recommend this funny little toy, as he has become a treasured member of my doggie's toy collection. As a matter-of-fact she is cuddling with him right now on the couch asleep. :)

Great product, too good for a dog, I always wanted a sock monkey but most are too expensive, so this little guy has a happy home with my bear collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Soundmaker lasts a long time if you remake it into another toy., January 29, 2011
By
This review is from: Multipet Plush Dog Toy, Mr. Bill (Misc.)
The actual toy lasted only a few weeks but for what it was you knew it wouldn't last longer than a rope toy with a dog that likes to chew more than some dogs.

Cons:
-the arm stuffing came out first
-the plush material got really gross with drool on the outside more than other dog toy material

Pros:
-Mr. Bill iconic soundmaker that says "Oh Noooooo!" still working great
-batting inside can be reused to make a whole new toy.

For those inclined to make their money go further and give Mr. Bill's words new life I have instructions on how you can remake this dog toy into a new one:

To reuse the soundmaker I left the soundmaker in Mr. Bill's head because the batting (stuffing) there provided pretty good protection. I removed the batting from the rest of the body and placed Mr.s Bill's head with the soundmaker inside into a long men's sock (think sock monkey). I placed more batting around Mr. Bill's head to give soundmaker more cushioning. Suggestion: it may be a good idea to use packing tape on the outside of the soundmaker itself to keep it intact (just in case you have dog that likes to chew). One sock is not enough cushion surrounding Mr. Bill's head though because holes can be made easily into just one sock layer and the jaw pressure from a dog's mouth could break the plastic on the soundmaker. Because of this, I suggest 2-3 socks (short or long on the inside) with the outermost sock long because then you can tie 2-3 knots at the end. What you have is a long body that you can draw some eyes on with permanent marker on one end of the body and the knots at the other end will be like a rope toy.

Pros from this design:
-dog can play with either end of the toy.
-person can throw toy (without much drool) with the knotted end easily.
-more stuffing= more protection for the soundmaker you wanted to reuse.
-it's easier to notice when the toy is being destroyed- then you just rewrap in another sock!

5.0 out of 5 stars Instant Favorite, February 7, 2012

I gave our family dog a bunch of toys for Christmas. This Lambchop plush was among them, and he immediately loved it and carried it around like a baby. Fast forward to now, and he's still doing that *every day*. It is the cutest thing in the world seeing him carry the toy around like a security blanket. Don't even try to take it away from him! He loves this toy - highly recommended. It's super cute!

4.0 out of 5 stars This has become my dog's favorite toy!, February 6, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Little did I know when I bought Mr. Bill, that when chewed, he cries out "Oh nooooooo!" just like his SNL tv namesake! Lady, my black lab absolutely loves this toy. When we gave her Mr. Bill two months ago, she forgot about her other toys for almost a month. She has started playing with her other toys again, but this is still her favorite.

The only drawback is, because of the "Mr. Bill" sound-maker, it can only be surface-washed. This is Lady's only toy that can't be tossed in the washer and dryer, but it's worth it to see my Lady with this toy. I'm going to buy a few more, just to have on hand, in case Mr. Bill gets too dirty to surface wash. I only wish they had a Mr. Hand dog toy to go with this. ;-)
