My wife's diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) set me out to learn about this dread condition, and in my search I found this book. Author Beth Ann Hill began suffering the symptoms of MS in 1995, but it wasn't until 10 doctors and four years later that she received her definitive diagnosis. After that, she also did her research on this dread condition, and this book is the fruit of her work.As MS is a very individualized condition, Ms. Hall begins by sharing her story of her symptoms and adventures with the medical establishment. After that, she presents all of her information in the form of a series of questions and answers. The Q&As are divided into seven chapters: 1) Defining Multiple Sclerosis, 2) History and Statistics, 3) Symptoms, 4) Diagnosis and Medical Tests, 5) Treatment, 6) Family Issues, and 7) Lifestyle Changes. But, that's not it. The final section of the book is entitled Suggestions, and has articles on What To Do If You Think You Have MS But Haven't Yet Been Diagnosed, Twenty Things To Do if You Have MS, Suggestions For Friends of MS Patients, and Suggestions For the Spouse Or Significant Other Of An MS Patient. And finally there is a list of MS Clinical Facilities that are affiliated with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (organized by state), and a glossary of term. So, if you have reason to believe that you have MS, or have a loved one that you believe has MS, then this is an excellent book for you to get. It has all of its information organized in a friendly, easy-to-read manner that makes it very nice to read. I highly recommend this book to you.

Author Beth Ann Hill consulted more than ten doctors only to end up enduring misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis -- until she was finally diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Hill is now a determined patient advocate. In Multiple Sclerosis Q & A she offers the reader brief, honest, no-nonsense answers about MS in language and content totally accessible for the non-specialist general readers. Multiple Sclerosis Q & A also offers a list of support groups, clinical facilities, websites, books, and publications that can be used for more information. An excellent introduction to the realities of this troubling disease, Multiple Sclerosis Q & A is very highly recommended for anyone having to comes to terms with MS for themselves or for a loved one.

This book is great. My husband is 31 and has had MS for 5yrs. This book answered so many questions we've had but have been afraid to ask. Most importantly, the answers were very reassuring (just as the title says). I would recommend this book to anyone with MS or with a family member with MS. It will make you feel like the world isn't ending after all.

I really enjoyed this book. I am newly diagnosed and had alot of unanswered questions that I didn't know who to ask about. I did the main research in the internet, but that just gave me the bascis. This book gave me all the answers to all the questions I had and the questions I didn't even think about.
It was very easy to read. (I finished it in 1 1/2 days, that's how good it is) and very straight to the point. My mother is now reading it to better understand my new diagnosis and the rest of my family are as well. A def. MUST for all new to this diease. Good luck to all in the same battle and STAY POSITIVE!! :-)

I am 38 and have just been diagnosed with MS. In this book, Beth Ann answers questions that I hadn't even thought of asking yet ! My parents found this book and bought it for me through Amazon :-) A very, very helpful first read for anyone newly diagnosed or for anyone that is suspected of having MS. I wish that I had thought to look up info on Amazon as soon as I first heard the words Multiple Sclerosis from my doctor, before he even had completed his testing. If I had found this book, even then and read a review such as I am writing, I would have learned a lot about MS and even if he had not found me to have MS I still would have come away with much more knowledge of this horrible disease. Beth Ann has managed to pack tons of very helpful and informative information into a very small book. She doesn't use medical terminology and the language of doctors so that the average person without a degree in medicine can easily understand everything without looking anything up on-line. It is a very quick read also, I flew through it and am about to go back through it and highlight areas that I want to refer to often. Kudos to Mrs. Hill, fellow MS peer !!!!!!!!!!!

This book was very helpful in the first months after my MS diagnosis. It is a good general look as common questions and answers that every patient and their families have when trying to learn about the condition.

Easy reference for MS & it's Symptoms,
This review is from: Multiple Sclerosis Q & A: Reassuring Answers to Frequently Asked Questions (Paperback)
This is a great book for basic understanding of MS. Nice for a first time MS parent to get a handle on the disease, terms, symptoms and potential remedies. I'm keeping this as a library resource for the "future questions I may have and can't remember what I read scenario". Nice to hear from an actual MS afflicted person.

When I was diagnosed with MS almost 3 years ago, I had a hard time finding a book about MS that didn't say that I would end up in a wheel chair so I need to start shopping now, until I found this one. This book is HIGHLY informative, and it has given me a TON of valuable information. I highly recommend this book for anyone newly diagnosed, or knows someone with MS.

Easy to understand and helped everyone in my family understand what was going on with a family member that just found out that they had MS. Not everyone wants to know all the details, this was the book for them. It took away some of the shock and misconceptions that the family had. Glad we started with this book.
