This songs are not catchy or original...they just sing the tables straight through to a random tunes...there is no 'hook' to help kids memorize their tables.....I am not at all sure why this cd has all these '5' ratings and all these glowing reviews...it is not good at all.

i have been looking for a multiplication cd that has songs similar to Jack Johnson's 'three is a magic number' song (my daughter quickly learned her 3 x tables to this one!)...catchy and interesting.....this is definitely NOT it....will keep looking.

Multiplication Mountain is a children's music CD designed to teach young people basic multiplication in a fun and catchy manner. Starting at the bottom of the "mountain" and learning the easy tables first (multiples of 2, 10, 5, and 11) followed by the next tier (multiples of 3, 9 and 4), the next (multiples of 6 and 8) and the peak (multiples of 7), kids learn about each table through its own song. A complete guide with lyrics and recommended activities rounds out this excellent educational supplement highly recommended for school and public library collections, as well as listening at home to help little ones get on the right math track.

The music here is easy-to-listen and "jolly", child-friendly in that sense. For each track, there is a version where the answers are not sung, so the children can try to fill them in. My child already knew the multiplication tables when I got the CD, so I could not test how much she would learn with it, but I feel the CD is well done and there is no reason why it wouldn't be effective in helping children to learn the tables. My favorite song was the one for the sixes.

I became acquainted with Hap Palmer when I taught Pre-school many years ago. I am a grandmother now, and ordered several of the CD's. I love them all! When the grandchildren visit we sing and dance, creating the best memories. Little do they know that they are learning while we are having so much fun!

In the case of this CD, it's great to have a Hap Palmer for my older grandchildren!

I reviewed this and other multiplication cd's before choosing Multiplication Mountain. Some of the others sang the multiplication facts themselves. But this one sings an intro to each set and then says the facts clearly so they're easy to understand. Each set of facts has a different type of musical genre introducing them ... like waltzing to the 3's, rocking to the 4's ... making them fun to listen to. Also each set of facts has 2 tracts ... the first says the facts with answers, twice ... and the 2nd tract says the facts and pauses while the child fills in the answers (also twice). My 9-yr old granddaughter had difficulty learning her times tables so I bought this cd and play it in the car on the way to and from school. It has helped her learn them much easier and she passes the tests much quicker now. Even my 4-yr old granddaughter loves the musical parts and wants me to keep playing them after the older ones are out of the car!

Overall I am pleased with this purchase. The tunes are catchy and will not drive you crazy through repeated listening. I like the "fill in the answer" repeat part as well. We listen to it in the car, and my daughter still enjoys the songs and is learning her multiplication tables, which would be my criteria for rating the CD. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is my particular CD has a few minor skips. Not enough to warrant returning the product, but just enough to be annoying since it was bought "new."

I ordered this because my 3rd & 4th grade girl and boy were not memorizing their multiplication facts, after years of trying. We listen to this in the car and they love it. The music quality is surprisingly good, and each song is a different genre of music, or different type of beat. The kids have quickly memorized the songs, and I enjoy listening to the music also.

I purchased this cd to help my 3rd grader learn multiplication easier. He resisted at first, but now listens to the cd every day. Repetition is the key. He enjoys the songs and they really seem to help him.

Good product to purchase when you just want them to learn it by rote. Isn't multiplication like that initially for the new young learner? My younger kids are now singing it, despite not sure of the concept. Only drawback is maybe the songs don't need to be sung 3 different ways for each number ie. two times tables. Highly recommend it though. Love the songs, would be better if the acoustics varied, once again due to monotony. ok...it grates on your nerves halfway through. The concept is good, God Bless the music writer- it can't be easy. All in all, a fine tape to teach it to the little ones.

Love it! 2 thumbs up! Even I enjoy singing along with my daughter! She has really caught on to multiplication!
