Great for what it is,

My daughter got a little behind on learning her multiplication tables from memory. She could do most of it if you gave her enough time to figure it out, but at a certain point you just need to know it from memory to move on to other math skills. The flash cards were hard on both her and my wife and I as we all got tired of them after the first round or so of going through them. Multiplication Rap was a good supplement to the flash cards as they run though a multiplication fact family first by giving you the answer, then the second time through gives a short pause for your child to answer before announcing the answer.
The DVD's music and visuals, while not outstanding, are much more interesting to a kid than plain white flash cards. Each multiplication fact family has a chapter so you can zero in quickly on what they are learning at school. We supplemented this and the flash cards with some "old-school" School House Rock! (ok, that was really for my wife and me) and a multiplication story book since my daughter is a reader, and things are back on track. But before test day, we run through the flash cards and then when we all get tired we pop this DVD in for a final review of the multiplication fact family with us participating with her. Everyone learns different, but this works great for us and her learning style.

It's okay. After a couple of times my 9-year old son got tired of it. The music isn't that great. They use some of the same music and beats for the raps.
