Mulitiplication Rock Version,

This review is from: Multiplication Rock (Rock 'N Learn) (Audio CD)
This product has, so far, be very benifical in helping my cousin learn her multiplication. She is already up to the 6's (in only 3 weeks - she was not able to get that far working with her school in an entire school year last year!).

I bought this for my son who had not been able to memorize his math facts and am at my wits end to make it as easy as possible. He thinks it is OK but my daughter cannot get enough of it. I do not know if it is because she is learning something that her older brother is too or beacause she likes the music... It is in not as bad as some of the other say but it in not inspiring either unless there is some sibling rivalry to go along with it.

Tuneless, painful and irritating....,

I had high hopes for some catchy tunes to help my 3rd grader learn her times tables...what I purdhased was a man with a squealing,high-pitched, annoying voice that neither of us could toerate for more that 5 minutes.
Wish that we had tried Multiplication RAP instead of ROCK, it may have been more catchy...who knew?

I was looking for a karate chop to help break the boredom cycle that my children endure learning their math facts. This certainly wasn't it. After awakening (and scraping the cheerios off our faces,) we all decided that once was certainly enough.
On a positive note, it puts the children right to sleep and makes for a fine bedtime audio program (despite the shallow, classical rock-n-roll roots.) (NOTE: Since I can't believe the other review at all, I can only assume it came from the Mr. Caudle or the publisher, Rock-N-Learn. I feel it's unethical to write rosy reviews in order to boost sales. You should instead provide publisher's information.)

I worked in a teacher supply store for 15 years, and sold lots of multiplication learning tapes, CDs, and DVDs. Rock'n'Learn is the best. I also used these products (I say "these" because we also had the country and rap versions) with all four of my children.
Now, some reviewers have expressed disappointment with these products, and I think I can see where that's coming from. First, the multiplication tables aren't as conducive to high art as, say, love or existential angst or God. If you were hoping for the sort of music you'd choose to listen to as music, then something telling you that when you "wanna multiply by ten, all you gotta do is put a zero on the end" is probably not going to do it. They will, however, teach the multiplication tables. If you play these CDs and DVDs faithfully every day while the family is getting ready for school or for bed, your entire family will learn the multiplication tables whether they want to or not. And whether they enjoy it or not. I always told my customers to pick the one they could stand to listen to over and over. Rock'n'Learn is superior musically to the other options (I speak as a musician here)and is also more clever and witty. It isn't easy to be clever and witty about multiplication, either. Most of the available choices just chant "1 times 1 is ...1" for ages.

Save your money....,

My daughter is 9 and has a learning disability. I was looking for something to help her with the painful process of remembering so many numbers. This CD is absolutely horrible. Think bad 80s rock multiplied by 100 = total waste of money. It actually made me kind of angry it was so bad. I feel like I've been taken advantage of. Trying to help your kid make it in school is such an emotional thing. I've spent a lot of money on therapy and teaching tools for my daughter - often at the expensive of other important things- because of the disability. I'm happy to pay the price for well made quality tools. This is so bad it's like they didn't even try to make a quality product.
The rap version is much, much better, though not great. I gave it one star because all the math hidden under the music is correct. In the future, I'll be avoiding all the products put out by this company. Lesson learned.

I teach elementary remedial math. One of the biggest factors in the student's inability to be successful is the lack of mastery of multilication facts. I bought this CD and now play it every beginning of class. The children sing along, and even I like it too. We sometimes do jumping jacks to the music. In all, it is a fun way to learn rote math facts....beats drill and practice for sure! My students love math and the success they experience.

My daughter is not too excited about it. When she first opened it she couldn't wait to get started. After a few minutes she was done with it and has not wanted to listen to it again.

I am a teacher and have tried using multiplication rock in class. Most of the songs are not very catchy sounding and my students had a difficult time memorizing the facts. It is not worth the money and I found that pairing stories to facts is more effective than this cd. Only buy it if nothing else is working for your child or class.
