5.0 out of 5 stars Great Calculus III book, NOT Early Transcendentals
This is a great book for College Calculus 3. If your class requires the "Early Transcendentals" edition, this is essentially the same book. It contains the EXACT same material as the Early Transcendentals edition but everything is pushed ahead one chapter. It has the exact same amount of chapters and the exact same questions so don't fret, this book will work for your...

3.0 out of 5 stars Its a typical math book
Its nth special... a book which covers what you need for calc III but the explanations arent the easiest to understand... Their are lots of questions though which makes it a good book for practice... They should make some of their explanations more clearer and I would have given it 4 stars.

Also the new price on Amazon is usually cheaper than the used price in your university's bookstore! (Note that you most likely won't be able to sell it back to your university because of it not being E.T.). Overall a great way to learn Calculus 3!

5.0 out of 5 stars So far a very good text book, February 20, 2009
This review is from: Multivariable Calculus (Stewart's Calculus Series) (Hardcover)
I have been using this text book for a while. So far it's good to the concepts and examples. But I think it's better to have a whole one including 3 volumes inteads of buying them one buy one if you want to learn all the calculus courses.

5.0 out of 5 stars A reference guide to keep, September 6, 2011
This review is from: Multivariable Calculus (Stewart's Calculus Series) (Hardcover)
I'm moving into semester 4 at the University of Texas. You are required to buy this book in the first level of calculus, but I'm still using it as a reference guide in vector calculus. It is a book that will help you in almost every level of undergraduate mathematics.

The explanations go into inane detail with typically 3 common examples for each concept. This level of specificity means you are almost guaranteed to have everything you need to figure out any problem thrown your way.

If you see math as a hobby, this is still your go-to guide, as it explains everything from what a sigma symbol means to how to integrate across different non-euclidean coordinate systems.

Does NOT include differential equations.

4.0 out of 5 stars You're lucky if your professor chooses this book., June 21, 2011

I'm a fan of Stewart's calculus book series. I used it for AP Calculus BC and Multivariable Calculus for 3 semesters in high school. I had a fantastic teacher for AP Calc, so I never really used the book to its full advantage. However, when I took Multivar at a local college, the professor wasn't very good (partially due to his heavy accent) and I had trouble understanding the material. Thanks to Stewart's book and my strong foundation in calculus, I was able to literally self-study the material for a whole semester. I struggled a bit in the beginning, but at the end of the semester, I received an A! I definitely couldn't have done it without this book. So the conclusion is: If you have a good professor, this book won't hurt you; If you have a bad professor, this book will help you... A LOT.

Economical alternative to the full Calculus book by James Stewart. This copy came in the condition it was described as and the bit of writing is not a problem. The book arrived before the estimated shipping date.
