My six-year-old became obsessed with all things ancient Egyptian some time ago so getting her this set for Christmas was a no-brainer. She absolutely loves it. Plays with it constantly. I was shocked by how intricate they got with the pieces included--very true to life. It has four archeologists whose hats/hair detach so you can switch them around, so I guess that's fun for the kids. The little mummy included is a little creepy (unnecessarily one could argue, but whatever), but it's not going to cause nightmares or something. So far the set has held up pretty well, but it's only been a month, too. We'll see how it looks in six months, right? As a warning though, when they say small pieces are included, they aren't kidding. We're talking practically microscopic silverware pieces here (slight exaggeration) and keeping track of all of them is a chore in itself. If you have little kids in the house who may ever possibly put something in their mouths then you may want to reconsider this set. Or at least keep it under strict control. The little tools the set comes with, the six-piece silverware set, and the various hardware pieces that can come off (intentionally--they fit right back on) are very, very small. And there's a TON of them. The set is great distraction for the kids and teaches them just what kind of work and physical hardship is entailed in archeology in the field. Great teaching tool indeed. But DANG those pieces are tiny!
