Munchausen: DSM IV diagnosis
Just for the record, Munchausen by Proxy is most definitely a diagnosable mental health disorder. In the DSM IV it's known as Factitious Disorder (DSM IV code:300.19). Outdated
Based on fiction rather than fact. All over the UK convictions are being overturned, in light that Roy Meadows (the creator of MSBP) has been exposed for giving "fanciful tales" in court. This is not an accepted diagnosis by any medical body...not the AMA or the American Psychiatric Assoc.

Just for the record, Munchausen by Proxy is most definitely a diagnosable mental health disorder. In the DSM IV it's known as Factitious Disorder (DSM IV code:300.19).
A similar condition known as "Angel of Death" or "Angel of Mercy" syndrome has been reported and medical professionals with symptomotology fitting this disorder have been tried and convicted after creating illness and even causing death to their patients. Some of the better known medical cases were: Richard Angelo, Harold Shipman and Jane Toppan.
