Teething. Baby is teething. She's my darling little cherub, but the pain from teething turns her into an inconsolable, cranky little alligator. Enter Munchkin Freezer Pops. Angry biting monster turns into content, numbed-gums toddler. Peace reigns. (For a while.)

Seriously, though, these rock. BPA-free, super sturdy and easy to clean; I'm satisfied. Possible negatives: The pops are tiny. When I opened the package, I initially thought they were too small (1-2 tablespoons fills each one), but my daughter has yet to finish a whole popsicle on her own, so I admit I was wrong. The handle of the pop has a little well to try to minimize drips, which means it's harder to get the last little bit of the food. To me, that's sort of a trade-off - easy eating or easy clean up - and since I'm usually the one finishing the last of the melting treat, it's not too hard for me to tilt my head way back and just look goofy to get the last bite. Highly recommended.

Edited to add: I'm knocking one star off my review because my husband managed to break one of the halves of the mold into two pieces while trying to get a pop out of the mold. Now, granted, I should also knock a star off of my husband, since, really, running the tray under some hot water instead of brute forcing the pop out would have kept the tray in one piece, but it would have been great if the tray could have withstood his enthusiasm.

As a mom who doesn't believe in giving my child artificial medicines, numbing agents, etc... this little popsicle maker was magic. I would puree some fruits/veggies, let it freeze, and my little teething monster was happily gnaw on this for at least 10 minutes. Yes, you do need to run outer case under hot water to get them out (ask my nanny why we're buying a second set!) but it just take a second.

For those who are wondering what to put in them, we've done:
- Apples and sweet potato with cinnamon
- Spinach, banana and blueberries
- Strawberries and beets
- Beets, berries and watermelon (her favorite so far)
- Pear, kiwi, greek yogurt

These are so inexpensive and extremely useful. We give her one after her dinner to numb any teething pain before bed. Easy to grip, easy to clean (I haven't had any issues with staining, and as you see, I've used BEETS, which stain everything), and easy to use. Don't go one more day without these.

I purchased these with the intention of making healthy 'popsicles' for my teething 8-month old daughter. So far she has enjoyed 'popsicles' made with pureed raspberries, blueberries and strawberries to great success!

PROS:
The popsicle is approx 2 TBSP's of liquid. When in frozen form, it is the perfect serving size for my 8-month old who prefers to feed herself. The handle is large and easy to grip. The tray snaps in half which makes it easy to make additional popsicles when 1/2 have been eaten, without the other 1/2 melting.

CONS:
The popsicles are difficult to remove after frozen. I have to run the base under hot water for 10-15 seconds. If I am not careful, the hot water hits the adjacent popsicle, melting more than just the popsicle that I am trying to serve. Also, the liquid sits pretty far down in the handle making it very difficult to eat after a certain point. Typically, the frozen portion in the handle is wasted because my child can not get to it. I realize that it is not a huge amount of food, but it is annoying to see food go to waste. Finally, the tray is difficult to pull apart. I am still not sure I am doing it right. I usually wiggle it until it comes apart on its own which can take several minutes at times.

I would recommend this product to other moms. I love being able to puree fruit and turn it into a healthy snack for my daughter.

Absolutely love these! I've been making breastmilk pops and all kinds of fruit and veggie pops for my daughter since she was born. They are the perfect size for little hands - not too long or heave like other brands. Worth the money!

These are so fun and my son has enjoyed his breastmilk popsicles. He is currently 6 months old but I see us getting a lot of use out of these. They are big enough for a toddler as well and the handle is easy to hold. I haven't had any issues with my son choking but he is supervised in his high chair while he enjoys one.

When we received these I immediately separated them into 2 sections (after reading other reviews). From there I mixed a coconut greek yogurt (daughter has dairy issues) with a strawberry banana pouch and added to the container. Popped on the tops and let freeze. You definitely need to run it under hot water for about 7-10 seconds, but with the design I found it fairly easy to ensure the water only hit the one pop I wanted. Then it pops out easily, perfect for little hands (20 month old). There normally is a bit left at the base but my daughter seems about done with it at that point anyways. Highly recommend for a quick treat!

The tray cracked when trying to get the popsicle out for the first time. Really hard to get popsicles out without pulling the handle out, even after running under hot water. We threw the whole thing out after the first use.
