5.0 out of 5 stars BEST EVER FOR MULTIPULE REASONS
With a small ice cube tray, you can freeze baby food and give it to them...... it helps SO much for teething, and also you really don't have to struggle to get them to eat! My son didn't even need to be taught how to use this! I was amazed and he's been using them twice a day for two weeks now! It's been a teething life saver as it helps keep him from being too grumpy...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great - but a pain to clean
I just bought a pair of these for my baby and their functionality is superb! My baby holds them easily, and loves eating with them.
BUT - they are near impossible to clean! Bananas are the worst to get out! I have rinsed and turned inside out & rinsed, run them through the dishwasher, and cursed at them. I would throw them out if my daughter didn't love them so...

In the dishwasher, they catch crumbs and keep them, so the only way I have found to sanitize them is by first handwashing (10 min), then boiling for five minutes.

These are great for babies, but weigh them against the amount of cleaning frustration you are willing to tolerate. Also note that some foods are a lot easier to clean out than others - anything stringy will have pieces twisted and wrapped into the mesh, so bananas, citrus, celery, and skins of any sort will give you a headache.

This product is genius and it doubles as a teether. Our baby frequently flips it around and naws on the handle. We use fresh organic pear and frozen organic strawberries, blueberries & raspberries (the cold is great on the gums). It is challenging to clean and would just say mush up your bananas and feed with a spoon - this doesn't work well with bananas. Pear comes through the mesh very easily along with the berries. Our little one loves this and it's a treat for her. This is a must have for all new mamas and a very cheap purchase.

*Baby may initially reject because of mesh but express some food out and they will love.
*Great for teething babies.
*Great transition from super pureed foods but before lumpy foods (this makes the food have some texture).
*Can be difficult to clean but just buy a baby tooth brush to get into all the nooks.
*Buy it, it's wonderful!

5.0 out of 5 stars never had a problem, June 19, 2007
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
My 6 month old loves food, but only if she can feed herself. I freeze baby food and put the cubes in this product, we've also had watermelon, cantaloupe, bananas, crackers, potato... pretty much anything that will fit in the pouch! I have never had a problem cleaning it. I even got it as a hand me down from a friend! I don't put it in the dishwasher cause it does catch every little thing that flies around in there. But hand washing/boiling, I've always been able to get it clean. Love it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Awesome product for purpose of feeding, but how do i clean it?, December 9, 2006
I've had this a few weeks and finally tried some bananas in it. My son LOVED it. He cried when we were done with it. I thought it was great because he could actually feed himself with something (he's 6 months) while I ate my own lunch. He got all the bananas. We tried frozen and fresh and both were a hit.
Now, they are still sitting dirty downstairs. I have tried scrubbing with a sponge, my hands, turning them inside out, using the sprayer, putting them in the dishwasher, dumping in boiling water.. i cannot get them clean. THere is banana all over them. I am thinking of calling Munchkin to get a new pair and just not using banana in it. I love the idea. Maybe grapes or something would be better. I still recommend trying this out, and if you find a better way to clean it let me know because i want to love this product!

4.0 out of 5 stars Found cleaning solution from other review, October 7, 2008
If it wasn't for another person's review and cleaning solution I would have given this only 3 stars! I am disappointed to find there are no replacement bags for this. It is a fantastic product and I will be buying more to give away as gifts! With the following information of course (I found an easy way to clean the mesh part that I would like to share with every one. First- remove any large pieces of pulp or food left inside- don't worry about scrubbing it out or removing all the food. Second- mix 1/4 a scoop of an oxi-clean type cleaner with hot water in glass cup. Third- put the mesh bag in the glass- ring side up (you can hold it down with a spoon). Wait about 10 minutes. Pull the mesh bag out- rinse and clean with regular dish washing soap. Air dry. Mesh bag comes out sparkling white (so will your glasses if you have hard water stains!). The food simply disolves. Works really well with bananas!!!! No more brown colored mesh. No more time spent trying to pull small bits of food out from the mesh edges or from around the ring. )

1.0 out of 5 stars choking hazrd, November 17, 2005
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
hi, just wanted to make you aware of a hazard on this product. the Munchkin fresh food feeder that i purchased had a small piece of different colored plastic on the locking part. this came off while my daughter was using it and she started to choke on it. luckily we were able to dislodge the piece and she's okay, but make sure yours doesn't have this part. I contacted the company and told them of the problem but i noticed the new feeder in the stores still have this hazard.

1.0 out of 5 stars No replacements, January 6, 2012
This review is from: Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder 1ea (Health and Beauty)
We bought this one for my first child. Loved it cause he could eat in the car without getting food all over in the back seat. Was great also cause he could feed himself...BUT i hated with every fiber of my being cleaning it. ITS HORRIBLE. I got it back out with my second child and there was no way i was using it again. (they are really close in age)I was at babys r us and found the sassy brand kind and it comes with replacement bags...so they come out, making it soooo much easier to clean. And once they get too nasty to give back to them, you put a new bag in. I would never recommend this one anyone. But obviously i would recommend the other brand.
