My 1.5 year old son loved these sippy cups. I also liked these cups. However, after some uses, he chews on the spout and the spout lets the liquid pour out and he doesn't like that, plus it creates a big mess. I tried to go online/look at stores and get replacement spouts but the only place I could find them was on munchkin.com. Since, I do not want to pay [...] and [...]for shipping for 2 spouts, it is more economical to use the Nuby brand. My son also uses the Nuby sippy cups and I can order the replacement spouts for with free shipping.

I wish Munchkin would make buying the replacement spouts easier!

Edit: The design recently changed (again) and as other people have mentioned make these spill more and harder to sip from. They are still better than most and if you can still get the older style (target still has them), they're great. Changed the rating to 3/5

We've tried just about every type of sippy available for our little guy. Some drip too much, or if they don't drip they are hard to get fluids from, hard to clean and so on. For some reason there just isn't a perfect sippy. I've admittedly spent way too much money trying them all out. This is the bottle we settled on.

This one is almost perfect. It does leak a bit, and it worsens over time (months) as the mouthpiece gets used and they do retain odor if milk or OJ is left in them for too long. But they certainly leak less than most. Their strawed model Munchkin Mighty Grip 10 oz Spill Proof Straw Cup leaks less but is harder to clean because of the two straw sections (their flip top straw model is terrible in my opinion Munchkin Mighty Grip Flip Straw Cups 2-Pack, 10 oz (Colors Vary) - avoid this one). If you don't mind the extra cleaning, the Spill Proof Straw Cups are #2 on my list. This bottle is just a simple three pieces, cap, bottle and a big clear mouthpiece which easily pops back into the cap. The simplicity makes them easy to clean (no need for a bottle brush to bore out the nipple portion of the cup, for example) yet they are cheap enough to be disposable in the event that some milk spoils in them. The shape fits his little hands perfectly and the mix and match colors of the caps and bottles keeps them visually fresh. I'd say on average I'm replacing one every month or two and we keep 5-6 cups in rotation all the time. Not bad at all.

Are they perfect, no. Are they the best? They are the best we've tried and just off the top of my head I can think of over ten different types, everything from the various stainless steel models, the more expensive luxury models to the cheap playtex disposables, all of which this bottle outperformed. Therefore I give it a 5 relative to the competition. Sadly though, the truly perfect sippy just doesn't exist yet. This one is definitely a safe buy.

My husband and I loved the concept of these cups, and purchased a bunch for our daughter. At first we thought they were great, until our daughter started poking her finger through the spout. She quickly broke a piece in the spout which caused the liquid to come pouring out. She has now busted most of the spouts. Nuby makes a very similar cup, and she has not had problems with those. We can't find replacements for the Munchkin spouts anywhere, but apparently they sell them. Go with the Nuby cups - they are much more durable!
