5.0 out of 5 stars ONLY cup that doesn't leak! August 31, 2009
I am not sure what was wrong with the one negative reviewers cup (maybe her straw was loose or a random defect), but this is seriously the only cup that my daughter can shake, hold upside down, whether is is closed OR open, and is DOESN'T leak. I have bought every other straw cup out there, and this is the only one I now buy. I now own six of them, and they are all great. No defects in the ones I got.
And they are the easiest to clean.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for biters September 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
My daughter has an oral fixation and tends to chew up the plastic straws on her other disposable cups. I thought that the different texture on this cup would avert that tendency, however she began chewing on these silicone straws also. Unfortunately, the straw did not hold up to the demands and were cut through almost within hours of my giving her the cup. The Nuby cups have stood up much better to her teeth and have the added benefit of having replacement straws easily available. The Nuby straw cups do however have the disadvantage that it is a bit harder to suck water through their straws than the Mighty Grip Flip cups. But the Grip Flip cups are slightly more ergonomic and lighter. If I didn't have a biter, I'd prefer this cup.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Sippy April 30, 2009
We tried many different sippy cups in trying to transition our son from a bottle to a cup and the straw style was the easiest. He didn't like the kind of sippy that you had to tilt and we wasted a lot of milk and juice that way. With this cup he can easily carry it around and nothing is wasted.

Only draw back that I can think of is that you need to promptly rinse the cup and straws after use as the straws can be difficult to clean.

2.0 out of 5 stars Requires too much suction December 5, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
I have the non-flip-top version of the Munchkin straw cups and we've been very happy with those. Thought I would get the flip version to keep the straw clean when we pack drinks. However, in this version, the valve is located much further down the straw (below the lid) and getting liquid out is _much_ harder than either the non-flip version or the Nuby straw cups we have. I tried some variations in the assembly of the straw pieces and made sure the bottom wasn't sealing against the bottom of the reservoir but in all cases it takes about 3 times the suction force to get the liquid up the straw. Drinking from this was difficult for me and completely frustrated my son. We've gone back to the Nubys and non-flip Munchkins.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read my review August 3, 2011

I bought these cups when my daughter was 7 months old. I never read the directions came with the cup which i think many people who buy these cups do. You think you will put it together and it works. It was so hard for me to suck anything out of it and I offered them to my 6 year old nephew who once visited me. He said he didn't want them because it's hard to get liquid out. So I had them for about 6 months when i wanted to just throw them away but i decided to read positive reviews about it. It turns out you need to really push the two parts of the straw into each other. It has a part inside the softer straw that doesn't let water come through so you need to push the harder straw into the softer one to make an opening. The day I read about it and put it together my 1 year old daughter learned how to suck from it and she was so proud of herself. She drank two cups of water in just few hours. Since then we use only these cups. They are the best. They don't leak, you don't loose lids.

3.0 out of 5 stars It really depends on what you are looking for March 25, 2012
By Zee
First of all, I bought this cup for about $3 from a local store and it wasn't on sale or anything. The price was for one piece, but nevertheless is cheaper than getting it from here.

What do I LOVE about this cup?

- It is rather tall (compared to some other sippy cups) and my toddler seems to enjoy drinking from bigger cups more than small cups.

- The straw portion which is popped out is longer than most straw sippy cups and it points sideways. This may not be a big deal for some... but for some reason, my daughter enjoys drinking for a straw shaped like this a lot more. It was not easy for me to find a sippy cup with a longer straw.

- It is clear, so I can estimate how much liquid my child drank (unlike most of the other big toddler sippy cups).

- The straw reaches the bottom of the cup, so no liquid goes to waste.

- Spill proof for real.

- The straw has a cap on it. Some other cups do not have this feature and hence are not portable.

- Reasonably priced.

Things I HATE about this cup:

- There is no measurement on it. My daughter is the type of child who is not consistent in how much she drinks at a given time. She drink one ounce only at times, and six ounces at a time at other instances. I need to monitor how much milk she is getting every day and it is a hassle for me with this cup.

- The valve it the straw makes it very difficult and annoying to clean the straw.

- Assembling this cup is a hassle. You have to remove one part from the lid and then put it back on. I hate that.

- Limited ugly colors. Why can't the makers of this cup be a little more tasteful in terms of colors?

This cup is impossible to reassemble. I cannot get the straw back in so it is now useless. Not sure why others like it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Needs too much suction to get liquid out
I normally like Munchkin stuff, but my son hated these cups and refused to use them. He couldn't get any water out. They were also a pain to clean.
