5.0 out of 5 stars Best spoons EVER!
I bought these spoons because I liked the bright colors. They looked fun and like they would capture the interest of my little man, who was just starting on solids. I also purchased the soft-tip Munchkin spoons (that are similar to the Gerber brand) and the Nuk temperature-sensitive spoons. Well, the Nuk and Munchkin spoons never get used because these spoons combine...

1.0 out of 5 stars spoon is top heavy
Like another reviewer stated, the spoon handle is heavy and when rested in a dish or in a jar it tips over. From a design perspective the handle is too long and too heavy. When you are juggling the feeding of two little ones and the spoon keeps falling, flipping messy food everywhere it is super annoying. I wouldn't purchase again.

I bought these spoons because I liked the bright colors. They looked fun and like they would capture the interest of my little man, who was just starting on solids. I also purchased the soft-tip Munchkin spoons (that are similar to the Gerber brand) and the Nuk temperature-sensitive spoons. Well, the Nuk and Munchkin spoons never get used because these spoons combine all of the best features of both. First, these spoons have a deep basin like the Nuk spoons. The padded tip spoons are so shallow that you can barely get any food on them. Second, these spoons have a soft tip. The whole basin of the spoon is actually flexible, which makes for a more comfortable eating experience for your baby. Third, the bright colors really do capture the baby's interest so they are more likely to pay attention once they get to that age where they are easily distracted. Finally, they have a longer handle than any other baby spoon I've seen so feeding is easier for the feeder. They are not temperature sensitive, but who feeds their baby without checking the temperature of the food anyway? This is one of the best products I've bought for my son! I would like to notify you that the colors I received are not the same as pictured. I received two spoons with pink basins (one with blue and one with green) and one purple spoon that is a pastel purple with yellow, so three of my six spoons are girly. Not that it really matters, just fyi.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST Spoons for Young Eaters!, June 11, 2009

Pros:
*LONG Handle is easier to grip than other popular brands
*B/C they're molded plastic in one piece, they clean EASY in dishwasher/by hand (Unlike Gerber spoons)!
*Very colorful-perfect for boys or girls
*VERY soft plastic-great for beginner to advanced eaters

Con: The ends of these spoons are heavy, so if you place them in a tall empty jar/bowl, the container will tip more times than not. Just something you've got to remember...

We've bought 3 sets of these so that our little guy has spoons at our home and his grandparents' homes. Everyone had previously purchased other brands of baby spoons (Gerber and Nuk), and remarked about how much easier to use these are! As soon as my son starts to feed himself, with utensils, we might transition to a shorter spoon, but these are perfect for our family at his current stage!
FYI: These can be found WAY cheaper at Target.

I have tried a lot of spoons out there. I have three children and have bought spoons each time they began to eat solids. The spoons are long enough so that my youngest daughter can grab onto it and I don't lose control of the spoon. This seems to help her while she's trying to coordinate getting the spoon into her own mouth. They are also deep which helps the food stay in the spoon when it's being manipulated and swatted by little hands. And they're bright and colorful. My three year old "picky eater" loves to borrow the "baby spoons" because they're much more interesting than her regular spoons. Whatever it takes to get her to eat.

Everything else about this spoon I like, except the handle is heavier then the top of the spoon. So everytime you set the spoon down in a dish, it fall's out. Ususally lands on to the floor and make's a mess. Would not buy these a again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Handle Is Too Heavy - Nice Overall, October 4, 2010
This review is from: Munchkin 6 Pack Soft-Tip Infant Spoon, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
These spoons are soft and in playful colors. They look innocent enough until you go to use one ... then you see the problem (lol). The handle is heavy enough that often when you place the spoon in a dish with a low/narrow mouth the spoon tips over and falls onto whatever surface you are using to feed. As a result there is a splattering of food to clean up. Many of the infant bowls out there are low, small and narrow. Sure, you could use a regular sized bowl but if you have a very young child who is only going to have a small amount of food, trying to scoop out watery, pureyed veggies, fruit, rice cereal etc will have you scooping all over the bowl.

Cute spoons, but someone didn't think when they designed these.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best spoon for baby!, December 20, 2010
This review is from: Munchkin 6 Pack Soft-Tip Infant Spoon, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
I've used the soft-tipped spoons from other makers, but they don't come close to the how great these have been for us. I bought a Munchkin dishwasher bin to wash various forms of baby detritus in and it happened to come with a free spoon. This was before I had the baby, but I managed to keep it around with my other spoons that I'd purchased/received for him. Once he was ready for solids, I started with the soft-tipped spoons and was not too excited about them. Even for his first feedings ever the other soft-tipped spoons just don't hold enough food - they are too small and too shallow. This spoon is deeper, longer and heavier which is apparently the trifecta of awesomeness in baby spoons.

I didn't have the trouble one of the other reviewers I read did; I was able to get the food into my baby's mouth simply by tilting the spoon up and using his mouth to remove the food for him (but, really, he was able to get the majority off by himself). It is a very gentle maneuver and the food slips right into his mouth easily. Also, when making passes on his face with the spoon to recover food that inevitably gets on his chubby cheeks and chin, the plastic is soft and scoops it off waaaaay better than the soft-tipped spoons.

I'm really loving Munchkin products. I will not knowingly buy anything for my son that contains BPA and each time I start researching a product with the tag BPA-free, Munchkin pops up at the top of the list. The soft-tipped spoons are old-fashioned and simply not a very good design. I'm glad to have received the free one or I might not of known this awesome spoon existed!

i do not understand why these get good reviews!?!? maybe because they are cheap? they are soooooo awkward and are way heavier on the handle then the tip so they constantly flip! so messy!

3.0 out of 5 stars spoons, July 31, 2010
This review is from: Munchkin 6 Pack Soft-Tip Infant Spoon, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
These spoons are the best for new eaters... I tried several other brands and I love the longer handles on these. They'd get a higher rating from me but you just don't use these small spoons for too long a period of time before moving on to a spoon with a wider tip. We only used these maybe 4 mos before my son wanted a spoon that gave him more food per bite. Nevertheless you can't start out with the wider tipped spoons you need to go gradually so these really are necessary, good thing they're cheap.

Not crazy about these spoons. The basin is too deep for my baby -- the food does not slide off easily so it gets messy. Another reviewer here considered this a plus so I guess every baby is different. My daughter takes small bites so the Gerber soft tips work much better for her. They have a shallow, very soft basin.
