Our 10 month old daughter loves the design and it keeps her safe from the spout. However, no one mentions how inconvenient this is for a spout that also works for diverting water to a shower head. This has become problematic in that you have to remove the duck each time after use if you intend to use the shower. In the process, it has been both destroying the duck (it won't stay on anymore) and it has pulled the spout out of the wall from constant handling. I would only recommend if you have another method for turning on the shower.

My toddler really likes the ducky. I think it makes her feel more comfortable in the tub. I love the quality materials used, the only problem I have is removing the ducky off the faucet. It gets kinda stuck and seems to take forever to remove. ANYBODY HAVE ANY TIPS?

4.0 out of 5 stars Not made for faucets that have the pull-up shower knob, November 2, 2009

Overall, this duck has been great, and has prevented a few bumps on the head. To get it to work with our faucet though, we had to cut out the plastic under the duck's hat (the part that is supposed to dispense bubbles) so that we could still pull up the knob for the shower. It was NOT easy to do, but once it was done, we never had to remove the duck to shower anymore.

4.0 out of 5 stars not the same ducky, July 28, 2007

I didn't get the surfer ducky. It's more like a bathing ducky. Still, it's a must have in the bathtub! We loves to play with it and I feel so much safer because her head came so close to the faucet as she would trip & fall on several occasions. If you have a baby that just can't be kept sitting down & you can't put enough non-slip pads in your tub, you need this.

This is a neat little spout cover. The hat on the duck lifts so you can pour the bubble bath into it, so it slowly drizzles to make alot of bubbles. would recommend.

We wanted a ducky theme for our son's bathroom. We got this and the Ducky Tub Rug, Jr. This ducky spout guard is cute and does it's job. The bubble bath dispenser works, too (my husband and I like to use that!)

It is cute, but a pain! I have great difficulty taking this off to have guests shower. Also it developed black mold under the hat and the hate broke off itself! It was a cute idea, but I am going to switch to one that has a hole so I can access the shower more conveniently.

5.0 out of 5 stars Safety First!, August 11, 2011
This review is from: Munchkin Surfer Ducky Spout Guard (Baby Product)
One of my earliest memories is when I was very young my mom was giving me a bath and I scooted too far toward the spout. I was facing it and when I sat up I managed to scraped my spine on the lip of the spout. I don't remember how badly I was hurt in reality but I do remember it hurt like heck and that my dad later said I had screamed bloody murder. With that memory I would never dream of bathing a child without something like this if I can avoid it. Why risk an injury, large or small, if you don't have to? Plus this ducky is tremendously cute!

We have had this duck cover for about a year. Our daughter (19 months) loves this duck...but she loves all ducks. My husband and I HATE this cover! It does it's job- it's stays on and protects our daughter from hitting her head on the spout BUT we have the hardest time getting the darn thing off! It doesn't just slip off, you have to tug and pull to remove it when bathtime is over. The inside of the hat is also moldy. Time to buy a new, different kind of faucet cover! I think there are better ones out there!
