Paint comes off!,

This review is from: Munchkin Ten Squirtin Sea Buddies (Baby Product)
I bought these toys (not over amazon - but rather at our local drug store) for my daughter's bath time. She has just started teething so mouths and chews on everything she can get her hands on. We found to our shock that some of the paint came off one of the toys after she gnawed it with her new teeth! No idea what the paint is made of, and potentially a health hazard. Not our idea of having fun with bath toys!

Cute & Toxic,
This review is from: Munchkin Ten Squirtin Sea Buddies (Baby Product)
I emailed the company, as I do with all baby toys I purchase to see if they are made with BPA, PVC, or phthalates . These are made out of PVC, and are toxic. Very cute but toxic.

My 5 month old daughter was chewing on the blue whale when i looked in her mouth and there was blue on her tongue. These are made in china and theres nothing to indicate that they are bpa-free or pthalate-free, but besides that its clear they are cheaply made and who knows whats in the paint. Terrible product.

Fun and cute, but needed to be tossed,

Although the bright colorful little squirter toys were fun for my son, after awhile - the water that was left in the little toys went stagnant and started molding inside the toy. If you don't empty the water from the squirters completely, you'll end up with foul smelling mold inside the toys. I would guess they need to be rinsed out really well after each bath. I have three sons therefore have three showers/baths every night and don't have time to carefully rinse these little toys.
We finally tossed them and are going for toys that don't get water stuck in them or you can rinse them out easier.

Not just for baths!,

I love these so much we bought a second set. They're colorful and the creatures are much more creative than most bath squirters--my older son particularly loves that there's a pufferfish! A few of these live in the bath, but most of them are in the toy box as little things our baby can chew on and put in and take out of things (like his dump truck or a plastic box or something). I also keep a few in my diaper bag, since they're so small, for emergency distraction purposes. We haven't developed mold in the ones in the bath yet, but if we did I'd soak them in a vinegar solution overnight. Think I might start doing this preventatively once a week or so.

I love these bath toys. I assumed that it was implied that anytime you have bath toys, that you are to squirt out the water from each toy before putting them away. That just seems obvious to me. Sure it is time consuming and tedious but I make it fun and squirt my son with the water and he loves to help me put them away.

Work like they should, but need to be replaced frequently,

Unless you are someone who has time to sit at the bathtub every night and squirt out all the water that your kids leave in these things, you will need to replace these fairly often. My son and daughter loves these, but they have a tendency to leave water in them. In a very short period of time they become moldy and nasty. You can suction bleach water, but after a while it seems to stop working and in the end they are just full of moldy water all the time. These work like described and kids do love them, but they are a pain and get really nasty. I'm also not sure why the age is 9 years and up; my son has had these things since he was a year old.

This set of 10 squirting bath toys is great. The colors are vivid and cheerful. The plastic is soft enough for even little fingers to squeeze. This is a great toy to encourage fine motor skills in tiny fingers to prepare for other tasks...and they are just plain fun!

These little squirter toys are so fun. My 8 month old son loves to play with them in and out of the tub. They blow air when playing out of the tub which he thinks is hilarious. They are really cute and small so they fit easily in his hands.
