Going on to sell more than 30 million units.

Today Mungo Jerry plays major blues and Jazz festivals all over the world, performing his own compositions which are a brand of rock, psychedelic blues and American Folk, alongside some of his many hits including of course IN THE SUMMERTIME.

Mungo Jerry is 100% No Bullshit, and said by many to be the ultimate King of the Groove.
In a two year span in the UK, Mungo Jerry contributed four Top Twenty singles, (including two Number One’s) and two Top Twenty albums in his first flush of success.

IN THE SUMMERTIME is officially the most played summer song of all time, winning for itself and it’s writer Ray Dorset, prestigious Sony/ATV and Ivor Novello awards and others including The Golden Gondola from Italy and the very first Iconic Award from The P.R.S of the United Kingdom.

In describing the music of Mungo Jerry as pure pop would be an insult to the varying styles of rock, blues, boogie and skiffle that has graced the stages of concerts and festivals which have seen Mungo Jerry sharing and indeed at times topping the bill with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Rod Stewart & The Faces, Genesis, Status Quo, Canned Heat, Free and The Grateful Dead.

Hit singles and albums followed at regular intervals for Mungo Jerry in the following years, songs never released in the UK also made large dents in charts as far flung as Europe, South America, Australasia and South Africa.

To say Mungo Jerry is just a hit-making machine would be denying the many diverse musical projects that the Mungo Jerry man Ray Dorset has been involved with, for example, a song that he intended to be recorded by Elvis Presley became a UK Number One and international chart hit for the Scottish songstress, Kelly Marie, in-fact FEELS LIKE I'M IN LOVE was the first UK high energy disco Number 1.

He also recorded an album with Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac together with, the late keyboard wizard and composer Vincent Crane, the album A CASE FOR THE BLUES is a must have collectors item.

A cover by Shaggy of IN THE SUMMERTIME featuring the mouth percussion and guitar sample of MJ made Number One around the world culminating in Mungo Jerry/Ray Dorset receiving yet more gold discs for his composition.

The story does not end there, and over 40 years since the initial brush with success, and with a stageshow at times over 4 hours long, Mungo Jerry is still releasing new material, in fact the much acclaimed albums ADULTS ONLY, NAKED FROM THE HEART and COOL JESUS have received four and five star reviews in many publications including Classic Rock and Mojo magazines. This is in addition also to the Mungo Jerry extensive world-wide commitments on stage and TV.
