The Queers are Back!,

This review is from: Munki Brain (Audio CD)
Yes, that's right. The Queers have returned and show no signs of old age. It's kind of amazing how a legendary band this old can still put out an album that sounds just as good as their stuff back in the day. This has 13 tracks and all still have the Queers sound that we love. Duke Kahanamoku, and I Can't Stay Mad At You, both have that Beach Boys vibe that The Queers like to throw in. One thing that you will notice though when you listen to this is that you can hear some maturity and also some experimentation. For example, I Think She's Starting To Like Me, is a simple 2 minute song but in the middle it kind of goes in a direction that you probably wouldn't hear from the Queers. Some other highlights are I'm A Fool, and the excellent closer for the album, Brian Wilson. There is also a couple guest musicians on this record including, Ben Weasel with his song Tangerine, and Lisa Marr on the vocals for Brian Wilson. This is a very solid record and other bands this age couldn't put out a record as good as Munki Brain. Congratulations Joe Queer, we hope to see many more albums after this! Buy this album.

Pretty much when you buy a queer's album you pretty much know what your getting into. It sound just like their previous album 2002 Pleasant Screams. Basically it has 13 2 1/2 minute ramones sounding pop-punk songs. All 13 songs sound exactlly the same. Which is not a bad thing. That is why I pretty much like all their albums.
The best two songs on this records are "Houston we Have a problem" and "think she's starting to like me". The greatest thing now is that Asian Man records is reissueing all their lookout record releases. That totally awsome. I just bought "Beat off", "Move Back Home" and "Grow up". Since lookout went out business. Are the queers my favorite pop punk band ? Probally, I like the first two Greenday records and almost all of the Screaching Weasel records and Squirtgun and The Riverdales. Lookout I think the best collection of Pop punks bands. So If you heard any other queers album and liked you'll definately enjoy this CD.

...the Queers would rule the radio waves. If you are a fan of the Ramones then you'll just love the Queers. This is the band that has picked up the mantle of Johnny, Joey, and Dee Dee and done the brudders proud! And if you are younger and enjoy bands like Green Day, Blink-182, or Fall Out Boy you should check out the Queers. These guys pump out consistently enjoyable pop/punk that digs its way into your ears and stays there all day.

Yawn. This is the best word to describe this CD. This is coming from a huge Queers fan. Don't Back Down was the last GREAT album the Queers did. PRC was OK and probably should have been the last. This album is just kinda boring. Maybe I'm getting old, maybe Joe is too. This album just doesn't grab you and shake you like it should. It's not terrible, just blah. I expected more.
