THE MUPPETS Movie in Novel Form,
By
This review is from: The Muppets: The Movie Junior Novel (Paperback)
Adapted from the screenplay by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller, THE MUPPETS: THE MOVIE JUNIOR NOVEL is a novelization of THE MUPPETS told for young people. Like the other book projects released in conjunction with THE MUPPETS, this adaptation differs slightly from the movie. From what I gather, this book seems adapted from the original longer version of THE MUPPETS before it was released in theatres. For instance, there's a longer explanation about why Kermit and Miss Piggy broke up, Tex Richman is given his backstory and why he hates the Muppets, and the telethon is given a slightly different ending than what is seen in the movie. The classic Muppet humor and jokes are all here as well as the characters from the show. One of the things I really found funny is that instead of having a name, Jack Black is just referred to as "famous actor", "actor", or "sponsor". I don't know why, but I found that hilarious. Of course, it gives this book more longevity than, perhaps the movie, but it's still really funny. Recommended for elementary readers and anyone who loves the Muppets.
