I couldn't believe when I read the other reviews about this product. Had to try it myself. So I figured if it had a 30 day money back guarantee I would try it. It not only did not work, but it made my skin so much worse. I was getting huge cyst like pimples and I never had that. I thought maybe I just needed to get used to it and that your skin always gets worse before it gets better. Not the case with this product. I stopped using it and my skin cleared up or should I say went back to normal. I did not want to leave a bad product review without contacting the manufacturer first. Unbelievable! Money Back guarantee my A**!!!!! They sent me an email stating that since I already used the product they cannot refund me. HUH? don't you have to try it to see if it works for you?????? WTF!!!! Anyway, needless to say I'm not happy. I should have listened to the reviews. These are really helpful. Heed my warning...do not deal with Murad! or at least the company that is selling it.

I read all the reviews on this product after seeing the infomercial on TV. Being an optimist, I decided to try the acne complex despite the fact that some buyers were pleased with its results and others were extremely disappointed. I am in my mid-twenties and have had moderate acne since I was 13. I have tried every over-the-counter product around. For me, Murad worked well for the first week. My skin was completely clear and very smooth. Then I started getting large, painful cysts that took a long time to heal. I stuck with the complex for 5 more weeks (through the "purging" phase) but things did not get better and I gave up on it. Now I am back with Proactive, which is not 100% effective but at least doesn't make my skin worse.

I never review an acne product unless I've used it for more than 90 days. This a perfect example of why.

After 4 weeks using the Acne complex kit, my skin had almost completely cleared up and I had absolutely no new breakouts. The treatment gel made my skin and slightly itchy, but I didn't think anything of it. I was in heaven thinking I had FINALLY found something that worked.

During weeks five and six, whiteheads began popping up along my jawline and mouth. I assumed this was the "purging" everyone talked about, but contacted a Murad agent to make sure my skin wasn't reacting negatively to the product. She suggested I switch to the gentle treatment gel to remedy the redness and itching I was experiencing. I did, and the gentle gel was much easier on my skin. However, the whiteheads worsened.

By week eight, the whiteheads erupted into terrible cystic acne in places I've NEVER had acne before.

Like an idiot, I used the product another 30 days in hopes that it would get better. After the first four weeks of clear skin I wanted to believe SO badly I had found my answer.

It's been two months since I stopped using Murad and I'm still trying to get my skin back under control. I have new scarring from all the terrible eruptions and the remaining whiteheads are still becoming inflamed. This product ruined my skin and my confidence.

I have spent about six months trying to get my skin back! I used this as directed for about 2 months, only to be left with the worse acne I've ever had! I went from moderate acne to severe that even the dermatologist couldn't fix! I would definitely not, not reccomend this product! Plus it's crazy expensive for the horrid results! I do like the smell, and it feels nice on skin, just makes you break out like crazy!

I think that Murad skin care products are great, more specifically, the acne complex kit. My 30 day kit is almost used up. Prior to this, I almost went insane because my acne, especially my blemishes, worsened during the second week of my usage. In fact, one morning my face was so bad you could play connect the dots. I began contemplating about taking again Accutaine, but decided to stick to using the kit. Two weeks after my connect the dots horror, my face started clearing up. Overall, the actual healing process started to kick in 3 ½ weeks later. I also purchased the clarifying mask and it too is wonderful!

I've been to various doctors, even took Accutane, which helped temporarily; I've tried countless number of skincare products, only to find out on my own, that as far as my acne goes, it's not an internal problem; it's actually external. After all these years, I've finally found something that works! I think that patience is the key and if this product doesn't work for you go to your dermatologist ASAP! Also, for all the beginners, be prepared for things to turn ugly before actually getting better.

So if you read the label, it says that it's scientifically proven to reduce 99.9% of bacteria in less than one minute. Well that's the trick. I've been using the Murad kit for about a year now and when I first started I didn't think it did much. I read somewhere that you should rub it into your skin for at least a minute so I tried that and wow, HUGE difference! I'm not kidding. If this hasn't worked for you, try rubbing it on your face focusing on the problem areas for at least a minute. You should feel a tingling sensation. That's when you know it's working. Give it about a week or two and you should see dramatic results. I'm not going to lie and say that I haven't had a pimple since using it, but it is so much more under control and I don't consistently have to wear make-up to hide it.

Also another tip, if this kit made you break out even more then try skipping the exfoliating gel. My boyfriend tried this kit and the gel made him break out. Taking that out made a huge difference.

It's important to remember we are all different - our skin reacts differently to different things. Even if the active ingredients are the same I've certainly noticed that my skin's reaction can vary, depending on the brand. I've had wonderful experiences with some acne treatments that others insisted were a complete waste. However, this is not one of them. Although it did not make my acne worse, I always had the same amount of acne as if I wasn't treating it at all. To me sure, I tried it for two months. Others insist this is a miracle worker, so hopefully it will work for you.

My wife is extremely pleased with her experience with the Murad 60-Day kit. She says she's tried a variety of products (e.g., Neutrogena, Proactiv, Clinique) over the years and that the Murad regimen has cleared her skin far more effectively than anything else she has ever used. Great product! I am 40 years old with hormonal acne breakouts and have found Murad to be the only thing that helps. It keeps your skin exfoliated without drying and I rarely need to use the spot treatment, now. I would recommend to anyone from severe acne to mild acne.

Murad Acne Complex starts working within just a few days and does not dry out your skin. Just make sure you do it everyday twice a day. If you miss a day you might have a minor blemish pop up. But even then, the occasional minor blemish it was just that...MINOR! It cleared up in a day or two. Great Product!
