pretty pleased,
This review is from: Murad Pure Skin Supplements (Misc.)
A couple of months ago i got two HUGE pimples. I have never really had bad skin but it wasnt exactly perfect eaither. I went to Sephora and picked up these vitamins and a kinerase blemish stick. Together they worked like a dream. I feel that my skin is smoother, more even and i have absolutly NO pimples since i started using these vitamins.I agree that taking 4 a day is a lot so i only take two a day because if you read the actual values of a four pill dose you are getting like 200% of what you need but as long as you get 100 you are getting enough to make a difference. I really like this product and have recommended it to all my friends!

Works Well,
This review is from: Murad Pure Skin Clarifying Dietary Supplement, Tablets, 120 tablets (Health and Beauty)
These vitamins have made a significant improvement in my skin. They are rather expensive and Murad suggests you take 4 vitamins a day. I take 2 a day as well as 2 vitamin A tablets (a significant vitamin in these Murad vitamins) so that the cost is not as high. You can find similar reviews of this product's effectiveness on [...]. They may not work on significant acne, but they seem to work well on my mild case of acne.

I've been taking Murad Pure Skin pills for a couple years now. In the same time period, my average stress level improved and my diet changed (going no-dairy and reducing sugar are probably the most significant factors). Nevertheless, I have been mostly on but sometimes off the pills, and taking them regularly does seem to correlate with improved skin. I will say that I quit taking the recommended 2 pills twice daily a long time ago, and I still get great results. I take 2 pills just once per day, which makes this product much more affordable.
Some info about my history of acne: It's genetic and not your average teenage pimple face problem, as my Mom had a horrific case of it, and all 5 of us kids had/have teen-and-twenties acne. I'm 29 now and still get pimples. I tried all the standard things like benzoyl peroxide creams, salicylic acid toners, Proactiv, etc. None of those seemed to make me less pimple-prone, but the Murad pills do appear to improve my skin overall without drying it out or irritating it. I still get pimples, but they are not as deep, ginormous, or nasty. I was skeptical of this product, because I deem my diet very healthy and not particularly in need of lots of vitamin supplements. But I am really glad I tried them. Everybody is different, though. My sister has tried everything on the planet, and the only thing that has worked for her is hormone manipulation via birth control pills.

Overall, I have been pleased with these supplements and would recommend them to other hormonal acne sufferers like myself. I deducted a star because they are a bit expensive, and remembering to take 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening can be a hassle. I have been taking them for 3+ months and have seen a reduction in my cystic acne (something I've been plagued with since I was a teenager). For anyone who suffers from hormonal break-outs, you know that topical ointments are a complete waste of time and money. I've tried every spot treatment, face mask, facial cleanser, exfoliator, toner, etc. for my acne, and none of it has put an end to the stubborn deep, cystic acne that I get once a month. Since this kind of acne is internal, you have to treat it with such, and these vitamins do a good job of that. Before resulting to something like Accutane (which I am not dogging - it worked wonders for me but it's not for everyone), give these a shot. A word of warning: these are pretty big (most vitamins are), and they don't smell or taste pleasant (I take them with a swig of soda to mask the taste, then drink a bunch of water). Also, if you're going to commit to taking these, take them for at least 6 weeks before giving up! I saw my most drastic change around the 6 week mark.

I've always had oily skin and mild acne. I'm 35 now and my skin has gotten better over the years but I always have a few pimples and my skin is still very oily. I read all the positive reviews about this product and was hopeful that it would help. I definitely do not recommend this (or any Murad) product.
First of all, you have to buy 2 bottles because you have to take 4 pills a day and there are 120 pills in a bottle and the product states you won't see results for at least 6 weeks so you get scammed right off the bat, having to buy 2 of something you don't even know works. Second, these products are pretty expensive. I bought the pills, along with the salicylic face wash, face mask and on the spot treatment. I don't mind spending money on products that work- these did not work for me. There are other products out there for people with acenaic skin that work much better- Obagi and Proactive both worked better for me. After I finished the first bottle of the supplements , I noticied no difference but knew I still had a couple of weeks to go. Right around 6 weeks, I had arguably the worst acne breakout I've ever had in my entire life. I rarely get cystic acne but I got about 8 hard, cycstic, miserable zits all over my nose, cheeks, and chin. I thought maybe it was just a coincidence and kept taking the pills. I took the pills for another 2 weeks and just kept getting more and more cysts. I've been off the pills for about a week now. The cysts are gone but I have acne scars all over my face now. Skip this product!

My Skin Looks Great,

My skin looks great. When I went down to 2 a day, the results were not the same. These vitamins also cure hangovers.

I am taking this supplement with omega-7 and sulfameth (prescription). I am also using a topical cream on my face. That combinaison seems to help me manage my severe acne skin condition. The pills cocktail make all the difference.

I have suffered from bad adult face AND body acne for many years and have tried everything from the common over-the-counter blemish creams and washes to prescriptions like tetracycline and benzaclin to devices like Zeno without any significant success at improving my condition. I have tried the Murad Acne Supplement now for about 3 months, and don't feel there has been any difference in the condition. All it does is make my pee bright yellow from the megadoses of Vitamin B in this supplement. I will note that many reviews online seem to indicate this has worked well for others; unfortunately, I am not one of them.

So far so good!,

I have seen an overall improvement in my skin since I started taking these supplements a few weeks ago. Though I'm still getting mild break outs, they go away much quicker. Looking forward to seeing what my skin will look like in a few weeks!

It's been only 7 days and I've noticed a HUGE impact on my face. Over all, my skin is CLEAR, soft, smooth, and healthy looking (almost like I already have lotion on or something, not oily though.)
Although my face is still healing from previous breakouts, no new cystic-acne spots have popped up since I've started on Murad. I did get a tiny-tiny pimple two days ago, but it cleared up already and it was painless (compared to what I'm used to). I have only missed one dose this whole week, so maybe that was why. I did read that you really need the full dose (4 pills) per day in order for it to work at it's best. I highly recommend at least spending the $31+ on Amazon to TRY it for a month, it's worth the dollar-a-day in my opinion..but either way, it's a good multivitamin. (Only weird side effect, sometimes your urine can be neon yellow.) Also, I read in a previous post that, "it helps with hangovers." - I'll have to remember that one! ;) I purchased mine at Sephora but it was $49.00!, so make sure to look for it on Amazon. I know I will be next time. I hope this helps any one researching it. - @itspeep |
