Stinging guitar a la Horton Heat, lumbering carnival rhythms, midnight sax... very cool. They've been compared to Tom Waits and Nick Cave, which doesn't ring true to me in terms of their sound, but there is a similar sort of vibe. Live, they're much louder and punk-rock-y, but either live or recorded, lots of fun. Standout track for me on this CD is the opener, Black Coffee Night. They also have another great song not on this CD playing on their Myspace page, called "Tuesday is the New Monday."
