4.0 out of 5 stars Stop the Killing, Ms. Truman, June 7, 2007
By
This review is from: Murder At The Kennedy Center
Another in the long line of Margaret Truman mysteries set in DC, Murder at the Kennedy Center is a nice fun read. Good guys (liberals, old liberals, Washington insiders, politicians) and bad guys (Panamanians, TV evangelists, Republicans) fight over possesion of damning documents during a presidential campaign.

Ms. Truman's favorite protangonists (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) help a California senator to get his campaign and home life back on track after a beautiful young member of his staff is found murdered. Mr. Smith is not only the competent lawyer and personal advisor, he also prevents a second murder and even finds the body hidden in the bushes at the Kennedy Center.

Like the others in this series, there are some fun twists. I did not know the perp's identity until the end. For good measure, there are other wacky characters, the ex-cop, the ex-opera singer, the crab house proprietor, and the dirty New York lawyer. Apparently some of these characters are recurring. Unfortunately I am not reading these books in order, that might help a bit.
