Product Description

What if you witnessed a murder and no one believed you except the killer?

What if you had proof, but didn’t know it?

And what would you do to bring the killer to justice and save your best friend's life?

********

The Devil's Cauldron is a natural formation on the Enchantment River that swallows half the river. Whatever goes in, never comes out.

A killer con man plans on making use of the Devil's Cauldron by pushing his wife in so he can get his hands on her millions.

When 12 year old Starr Nelson moves to the North Shore of Lake Superior, she doesn't expect to witness a murder.

Her mother doesn't believe her and neither does the sheriff.

But the killer does, and knows it's just a matter of time before someone does believe her.

If she can't prove she's telling the truth, her mother is going to send her away from the first place she's ever felt at home. But everything she tries just gets her deeper in trouble.

As she tries to get proof of the murder, Starr unknowingly endangers her new friend Charlie Running Bear and she has to find a way to save her friend from the Devil's Cauldron.

In a world of skeptical adults, Starr has to find a way to stay ahead of the killer and save her friend's life until someone believes her.

An Engaging Read September 21, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
This book held my attention, and I read it in two days (in between various duties).

The author did a good job with her background work on the North Shore of Minnesota where the story takes place. I used to live in Duluth, so I was familiar with many of the areas she describes, and she successfully captured the feel of, for instance, the "fall colors", the awe-inspiring presence of Lake Superior, and the local colorful personalities of the people and the establishments (such as a roadside cafe known far and wide for its famous pies).

A book with a 12-year-old protagonist might be expected to be targeting teenagers or young adults, but not this one. My one complaint would be the language, which was outside my comfort zone. It is definitely not appropriate for teenagers or younger. Otherwise, I sincerely recommend this book for anyone who enjoys murder suspense stories.

Like You're Really There March 25, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a very good book. I stumbled on it by accident. I love the North Shore and was looking for stories about it and downloaded this one. The writing made me feel as if I was there. I read slowly at first to make it last and got to a point where the plot is so tense I couldn't put the book down and zipped right through it. The characters come alive and even the "bad" ones I don't hate completely. David is a good villain and Starr is a great hero. This is a good way to travel and escape without leaving the comforts of home.I can't wait for the sequel.

Fantastic Book January 13, 2012

This book was one of best I've read in awhile. Having been born & raised in Duluth, the places and scenery described are so familiar. Made for a great read. Also, the story was captivating. I can't wait for your next book.
