5.0 out of 5 stars Written as only an FBI agent could; accurately, October 22, 2004
This review is from: Murder: A Family Affair (Paperback)
As the mother of Buzz, this book brings the truth to light. My family and I waited for just under 10 years for the truth to be told and Ernie did an outstanding job. He especially portrayed Buzz as a real person. Faltering, getting up, and improving his life once he found a ready made family, who he loved dearly.

This story is especially important to me because I believe my grandchildren have not been told the entire story of their father's death. I haven't seen them in eight years and when they are old enough to seek out Buzz's family, this book will enlighte them to the truth. They will be proud of their father.

Ernie put a picture of the victim (Buzz) and his family on the cover. Very unusual, as most true crime writers put the muderer on the cover. As stated by Ernie, this convoluted story brought him to realize how murder effects not only the family of the victim but that of the criminals family and the community.

Mr. Dorling reveals the tenasity of the Major Crime Squad and the prosecurors responsible to bring this mystery to fruition. If it were not for these men this case could have easily gone cold and unsolved. Connecticut can be proud of these dedicated men and women.

MURDER: A FAMILY AFFAIR is a must read! Mug Shots on Court TV and A&E's City Confidential did a dissevice to the truth in this case. Ernie Dorling's accuracy and writing style brings the characters alive. Everyone that I spoke to, said once they started reading; they couldn't put it down. Two women reading the book at the same time called each other every night to talk about every event in the book. Each chapter is more unbelievable than the one before.

Definately a 5 STAR BOOK !

Sincerely,

Dee Clinton

4.0 out of 5 stars small town drama, May 19, 2004

This review is from: Murder: A Family Affair (Paperback)
I just finishes this book, and WOW! I'm from the area the story is based in.Unfortunatly, I also know some of the key players. Mr. Dorling is very factual and I felt that he was not biased.
The story is about about a small Connecticut town and people who are too greedy for there own good. This book makes me proud of our police officers and prosecutors and sickened by lawyers who are greedy and think they are above the law.If you enjoy true crime books, this is first rate. However, realizing you know many of the people in the book is like staring at a car accident. You can't help but look.
