Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Murder To Go is a collection of eclectic short stories from ten of the most popular current mystery writers. Included are stories by Sara Paretsky, Nancy Pickard, Loren D. Estleman, Joan Hess, Bill Pronzini, Barbara Paul, Sharyn McCrumb, Wendy Hornsby, Barbara Michaels, and Marcia Muller. The five readers chosen to present this selection are Barbara Bain, Diane Baker, Ed McMahon, Paula Prentiss, and Henry Polic II; all names that should be familiar to listeners thanks to the narrators' film and television roles. Surprisingly, the quality of their reading skills is uneven at best. Still, this collection will appeal to any of the many fans of the selected authors. Recommended for mystery and fiction collections.

From AudioFile

This anthology of stories by popular mystery writers Paretsky, Muller, McCrumb, Paul, Hornsby, Hess, Estleman, Peters and Pickard presents a broad offering. There is so much variety here in both story and narration, you may need to like channel hopping to enjoy it. The narrative styles suit the stories for the most part; standouts are Henry Polic reading the Hess and Estleman, and Diane Baker reading Peters and Muller. They are best able to reflect the text and capture the characters. The production values are excellent. There is little to unify the selections but taken in short sessions, this variety should please fans of short mystery fiction. R.F.W. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
