This is the eighth Ellie Quicke mystery from the prolific Heley. Like Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, or television's Jessica Fletcher, Ellie, a middle-aged widow, seems to keep getting mixed up in murder and mayhem. This time she has to find out whether the nephew of a friend is a killer, or a victim of mistaken identity. Meanwhile, Ellie is juggling an assortment of problems on the home front, including some unwanted attention from the local vicar. This cozy British mystery won't send chills down your spine, but it offers a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
