This was an interesting book...It mixed true crime with Southwest history....It offers a glimpse into the legal system in New Mexico under Mexican control...It also offers a glimpse into daily life also...I never knew about the FANDANGO dances before.......If you are into southwest history, this would be an interesting twist to your book collection

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting reports of early crime in New Mexico, May 14, 2000
This review is from: Murder and Justice in Frontier New Mexico, 1821-1846 (Paperback)
A nice look into New Mexico's historical past. It seems people murder for the same reasons today as they did 160 years ago. The map, photographs and drawings were a nice touch. I found this book to be a bit slow in part but overall an interesting read. I would recommend it to any history buff.
