From Booklist

Honey Driver—Bath, England, hotelier and part-time crime liaison officer for the hotel association—reluctantly checks into a posh spa to help Detective Inspector Steve Doherty find out why Lady Macrottie drowned in her supposedly therapeutic mud bath. Honey’s mother thinks that her daughter has gone off to get ready for her wedding to Steve—a disappointing choice to a mother convinced Honey can do better. Meanwhile, Honey’s daughter, Lindsey, is left to run the family hotel when the hotel inspector arrives. Things get worse when the inspector turns up dead. Was he murdered, or was it food poisoning? The prolific Goodhind has written another entertaining mix of procedural and cozy with a very busy plot, dotty characters, and good humor. The Bath setting and the Regency tidbits littered about will please Anglophiles. --Barbara Bibel

Review

At the start of Goodhind's solid sixth mystery to feature hotel owner Honey Driver (after February 2010's Deadly Lampshades), Honey's boyfriend, Det. Insp. Steve Doherty, asks her to look into the drowning of Lady Carlotta Macrottie, "a woman who'd made a career looking beautiful and spending her husband's money," in a mud bath at a luxury health spa outside Bath. Honey, the part-time crime liaison officer for the Bath Hotels Association, reluctantly signs up for four days of treatment at the clinic, where she senses something amiss. On returning home to her Green River Hotel, Honey learns that a hotel inspector has possibly died from food poisoning, a kitchen worker has run off, and Steve hasn't been completely honest with her. A surprising conclusion, a cast of colorful supporting characters, and an astute heroine with a zany attitude and a passion for chocolate lift this British cozy --Publisehrs Weekly, 23rd August 2010

More About the Author

Honey Driver is a hotelier in the lovely city of Bath who (reluctantly) lands the job of Crime Liaison Officer. She also collects antique underwear, has a senior citizen mother who dresses as though she's just stepped off the catwalk, and a daughter who is actually more capable of being a hotelier than she is.
There's a lot of me in Honey Driver. I really did own a hotel in Bath and was a member of Bath Hotels and Restaurants Association. I make no bones about it, some of the occurrences in the Honey Driver Mysteries really did happen. Even Mary Jane, the professor of the paranormal from California, really did exist.
This series of books wasn't the first I ever wrote. I also write women's sage/romance fiction as Jeannie Johnson. In Germany, writing the Honey Driver mysteries, I'm a best seller as Jean G Goodhind.
I'm published in hard copy as well as ebooks and audio.
