Movie is very well played. The actors were splendid. Why is the
movie so high in price?

Ditto to the questions - why is the cost for this movie (used!) so high? Wanted my sister to see it, but she would throttle me if I spent 50 dollars for it! Amazon should put this movie in stock and sell for less!

I really enjoyed this movie the first and only time I ever got to watch it - I think on Lifetime - several years ago. Haven't been able to find it except here on Amazon on VHS for what - $50 to $60?!? Doesn't make sense to me - why is this movie so hard to find and soooo expensive? I wish they would release this on DVD and list it at a reasonable price. I definitely would purchase it!!!

This is one of my favorite movies. The actors are great, and the story is riveting. I discovered Keith Carradine through this movie. I'd love to own it, but it's too expensive.

This movie was initially made in 1987 and as a made-for-TV movie at that. Yet it is one of my favorite movies, (in spite of the sad-but-true story). Because, having grown up in small-town midwestern USA, I know how things are, and the movie portrays them in a most accurate way: Things like relatively simple clothing and hair styling, but also in attitudes such as trusting the local pastor unconditionally. I too want to get this movie on DVD and hope Amazon will set out to get some - many - produced and available for sale.

This is an excellent movie and I've been checking for several years on its availability. Amazon...wake up. People want this movie in DVD format for use in the USA. Now is the time. People are willing to purchase for themselves as well as gifts.

This is the best "made for TV movie" I've ever seen. Based on a true story, the script is well paced, the acting terrific. If the price ever comes down, I'll buy it.

I was unable to find this DVD anywhere else. Works perfectly and a great price!

I have watched this movie several times and it certainly holds up well with time. I wish I could get it on DVD. This may have been Kathy Bates' first movie, not sure, but it was evident from her relatively small part that she would go on to bigger things. The movie was well cast and the acting excellent (though not outstanding, to be honest). It was a compelling story and is a much better movie than some of the ones they show over and over and over on the premium cable networks. I would buy this one in a heartbeat on DVD and probably buy copies for gifts as well.

I have been looking for this DVD for a very long time. The quality of the DVD is excellent; not to mention the reasonable price!! You can't go wrong with this purchase. (I don't know why the other is selling for over $900 - that's just crazy!!!)
