This review is from: Murder for pleasure;: The life and times of the detective story, (Hardcover)
This is a marvelous look at detective fiction from the turn of the 20th century to approximately the early 1970s. The author is perceptive, analytical, and highly knowledgeable about all kinds of detective fiction. It's a pleasure, as well as an education, to read this book. If you like detective fiction and want to know more about early and mid 20th century authors and their works, this is a must read.
