I haven't written a book review since 2002,but as a retired librarian and having read this enjoyable book,I disagree with PW's review. This book was a romp! If anyone has been to
Hearst's isolated castle by the California coast, they will especially enjoy reading about one of Hearst's famous parties.. with a murder. The "A" list of the 1930's crowd are all here: Charlie Chaplin, Louella Parsons, Clark Gable, Jean Harlow and many other celebrities. Read the book and enjoy!

I first read this book when I was a teenager, and really enjoyed it. Like everyone else, I had to see the Hearst Castle and imagine all the various things that went on there. I always wanted a copy of this book, and am glad that I was able to finally find it on Amazon. Really good for people who just want to read and enjoy, not for some analytical person.
