Murder at Chase & Ward, January 24, 2011
MURDER SAVES FACE by Haughton Murphy (James Duffy) is the last of this fine series that I can find and I want more. It is seldom that a series will run start to finish with great stories each time, Mr. Duffy's Reuben Frost is an exception.
Juliana Merriman, an associate with Chase & Ward is at the brink of closing a merger that will establish her career and lead to a partnership when she is strangled. Her body is discovered hidden in the law library's stacks.
Ruben Frost is brought into the investigation at the urging of the new executive partner to find the murderer and save the reputation of Chase & Ward.
Was Juliana murdered by a drug addicted lover? Was she murdered because she was about to uncover fraud by an investment banker? Was she murdered because interested parties wanted the merger to proceed at all costs?
The questions are endless and Reuben is faced with the most difficult case and choice of his career.
Haughton Murphy's mysteries get better and better.
