Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

When you spend 12 years working on a hit television program, you're bound to bond with your colleagues; on the set of Murder, She Wrote, a passion for food was a unifying factor. When Tom Culver and Nancy Goodman Iland came up with the idea for a cookbook written by the show's cast and crew, what was Angela Lansbury's response? "Start collecting!" Three hundred and fifty recipes later, Culver and Iland present The Murder, She Wrote Cookbook, comprising the favorite dishes of those involved with the show. Now you can enjoy Windom's Last Meal--consisting of caviar and grits--contributed by cast regular William Windom, or Baked Seafood Salad, courtesy of frequent guest star Tippi Hedren. How about Chicken Adobo, offered by stand-in Dolores Domasin, or prop master Bryan Rodgers's Poppy Seed Salad Dressing? From key grip to best boy, everyone on the show has a fabulous recipe to share. And if you want to know just what a best boy (or a gaffer or grip) does, there's a section at the back of the book explaining what happens behind the scenes of a TV show. With The Murder, She Wrote Cookbook, planning a meal doesn't have to be murder.

Tippi Hedren's Baked Seafood salad is a true taste of Hollywood. What, no bird recipes? Anne Meara's pot roast is great, but what do you expect after being married to that porky guy who play's Mr. Castanza on Sienfeld. Angela Landsbury has always said cheesecake to me, and now I have a recipe. Hubba hubba. Good fun and good food.
