Kept my interest. A little vague at the end but believable.

Excellent. Could not put it down. Fascinating, very detail oriented, and historically accurate. A great summer read for anyone who enjoys a good mystery. I thought I had figured out who the murderer was early on. I was wrong!, thus capturing and keeping my attention. Can't wait for a sequel!

Well-drawn, believable characters and a strong sense of place pulled me in and kept me engaged to the end. Especially evocative if you've been to New York and Liberty Island.

This is a great mystery that lets you get to know the characters well enough to root for some and hope others are guilty. I loved trying to figure out who did it and read the book in two sittings as I couldn't put it down! I hope to see Lt. Finnegan again soon.

The book is a murder mystery that is very interesting and compelling. The book gave a lot of information about all the characters, which made the reader, want to suspect them all. When you get to the end, the murderer surprises you. It was a great "who done it" novel.
