This review is from: Murder Unrenovated (Five Star First Edition Mystery) (Hardcover)
This is one of the best in a series that went out of print a while back, and never should have. P.M. Carlson writes as well as or better than authors of similar series that have done much better commercially. Maggie Ryan lives in NYC with her actor husband; not a professional detective, crimes happen around her. The characters are very well developed and drawn, not only Maggie and her attractive husband, but the "local" characters in each book. No gruesomeness, but some really gripping scenes, and always a satisfying ending.
