1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible
Fleshgrind was never one of the best bands in the genre, but their first two cds were pretty solid. "Destined for Defilement" had some cool stuff on it, and "Sees of Abysmal Torment" had some better stuff. I bought this album expecting some good brutal death metal but that's not what I got. I tried to like this album, I really did. I felt like if I listened to it...

Yeah, i know that these reviews are just opinions but man, i love brutal death metal and not just ANY old crappy brutal death either, but what appeals to one doesn't appeal to all i guess. I love the riffs on Displayed Decay and Libertine Atonement! Dereks drumming is top knotch in my opnion on this release, although Alan on Seeds was a drum-god! Rich's vokills kill as always on this release and everyone else's writing and playing is top-knotch too. I think this release murders everything!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutly F*cking Sick! In all the right ways!, January 6, 2006

This album is amazing, far superior to "Destined For Defilment" or "Seeds of Abysmal Torment". FG has really polished off they're sound adding some; lightly use the word "some", real tech elements, but at the heart of the CD's the guitar and drums are still f*cking brutal as f*ck! FG really has started taking after some of they're other brutal death metal breathren, ie. Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Exhumed, Macabe, etc. in the sense they have made more "friendly" song structure, ie. Verse and Chorus. Songs that I think are truely stand out on this CD are "Sycophantic" that's one catchy track, "Duct-Taped and Raped" just sick, sick, sick! Also "Displayed Decay" another catchy track. All in all this is a solid release as far as death metal goes, has alot to offer! I give it a 9/10.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rich and the boys are back!, February 19, 2004
This review is from: Murder Without End (Audio CD)
I'm going to make this short. Go buy the cd, because in my opinon
this is superior to their first two albums. Rich sounds F*%king
angry, and his vokils are so sick and Derek Hoffman is one of the
most talented drummers today. As far as the musick goes
its' more brutal and staight forward death, but interesting
riff work. Just pick it up you won't be dissapointed.

I felt like if I listened to it enough it would grow on me (like a lot of metal albums do) but after a while I just had to give up because it wasn't getting any better. I actually sold it back to the cd store, good decision. Don't bother with this one.

The vocals are pretty much the same, but the main thing that has changed is the guitars and drumming, in other words the overall writing. "Seeds" sounded really brutal and raw, and that was part of what made it great. This is much too polished and clean for a death metal release, it loses points right there. The overall sound and feel of it is very sterile. The album description above says they kept their chatoic sound- I don't think so. The lyrics are pretty sick (duct taped and raped is especially disgusting, and i'm not saying that as a compliment) but the music itself doesn't sound threatening or violent, as death metal should. It sounds tame. Now this of course is coming from someone who listens to a lot of brutal bands, it's still way heavier than your average music.

Definitely the worst thing about this album is the drums. If the drumming was the same as "seeds," I think I would've liked this more. Now I have heard people saying that this drummer is a technically solid DM skinsman... that may be so, but his drumming here is absolutely boring. It's just constant blasting alternated with really fast double bass riffs that really add nothing to the songs. The drum triggers, combined with the clean production, makes this style of drumming even more annoying and repetitive sounding. Is far as I can remember, there is not one interesting or original drumbeat on this disc.

This really isn't worth anyone's time. You'd be better off with either of the other two fleshgrind albums (if you can manage finding them), or finding some other band. There are plenty of great brutal death bands around right now without having to waste your time and money on this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unspering and boring..., September 8, 2004

One of the worse death/grind bands i've heard in a while are the guys from fleshgrind because just like their other albums its boring. Fleshgrind "Murder without end" didn't do anything for me because it just simply bored me to tears and as i have mention before... I had the chance to hear this split album that fleshgrind did with mortician? Ha! Was that a joke? Out of all the great bands, they chose mortician thats a laugh riot--but well lets just say again i rather just foget that ever happen. So please, do not waste your money on this sorry un-talented and stupid band, ok ? I rather listing to Britney spears!
