Outstanding whodunit mystery,
This review is from: Murder in retrospect: A Hercule Poirot mystery (Paperback)
"Murder in Retrospect" is probably the best murder mystery I've ever read. Detective Hercule Poirot is called upon by the now-grown daughter of a woman convicted of the murder of her father. She wishes to know the truth of the matter as she faces her own impending marriage. Thus Hercule embarks on interviewing all of the individuals who were concerned with a closed case now sixteen years old. As he arranges the facts, the feelings and movements of all the players a pattern emerges that becomes perfectly clear to Mr. Poirot. He explains how the crime was conceived and committed to those acquainted with the case. In this case, the identity of the culprit and the flawless logic behind it is not known until the final pages. Excellently written, spectaculaly gripping.
