Book Description

April 9, 2007
Who hated the 911 dispatchers in St. Louis so badly that he wanted them all dead, and would do all he could to make it come true? Someone did, and he was killing them one at a time, leaving their bodies at different locations around the St. Louis Arch. Was it a jealous lover, or maybe someone who blamed the city police officers for the death of a loved one? Whatever the reason, he picked 911 dispatcher Cassie to be the dispatcher that he would call and brag to about the killings. He promised she would be the last one he killed! “St. Louis City police, 911, may I help you?” Cassie asked, answering the dreaded call of the night. At the sound of his voice, she started shaking. “Hi, Cassie. Guess who I have with me tonight?” The killer laughed hysterically. Cassie knew what was going to happen. AGAIN!

5.0 out of 5 stars La Tour de Force, September 16, 2007
This review is from: Murders Near the Arch (Paperback)
Glenda LaTour knows police work. Glenda has spent a career working as a civilian with the St. Louis Police Force. She brought this wealth of experience with her when she decided to write what would be her first published novel, Murders Near The Arch.

This very well-paced and highly readable mystery thriller grabs the reader on the first page and does not let the reader go until its powerful conclusion. Ms. LaTour gives a gripping account of 911 operators being terrorized by a serial killer whose identity is kept hidden from the reader until the final pages of this addicting suspense novel. Intertwined with the murder mystery is a well-crafted passionate middle-age romance. The characters are extremely believable and one gets a sense that there is a great deal of autobiographical material between the covers of this novel.

Glenda LaTour proves the maxim "write what you know" is still the best formula for producing five-star material for to rate Murders Near the Arch as anything less would be criminal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Murders Near The Arch, September 11, 2007
This review is from: Murders Near the Arch (Paperback)
This is a review I received from a retired police officer in the mail. I am very proud of it.
Dear Mrs. LaTour
I enjoyed your book "Murders Near The Arch." I read it in one day, as I couldn't put it down! Very interesting and it keeps you wanting to continue reading the book until the end. I was on the edge of my chair while reading it, thinking that the murder suspect would mess-up and leave some evidence lying around where he would be identified. I thought for a minute that the suspect was a police officer, as he knew where to get the addresses of the dispatchers. Then at the end of th book, I knew it would be a good book, but it is very entertaining and Ms. Latour you are a great writer and I think you have a very rewarding talent. I feel this book would make a great movie also..very well written. Good Luck in your endeavors and this will make a best seller I am sure. I hope you do write another book. Good luck in the future writings.
(retired Sgt.)
