A VERY ENTERTAINING (NOT AT ALL BORING) WESTERN,
By A Customer
This review is from: Murphy's Gold (Hardcover)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has a rich and entertaining setting, plot, and 'atmosphere'. I loved the story. It was very well written, and the plot idea was very good. Murphy's goal was to save enough money to leave town. He solved a murder mystery, and then after that, he decided it was finally time to leave. The book was so good. Most females don't enjoy westerns, but I read a variety of categories, and this novel richly satisfied me in the western category. I have no hesitations in giving it a 10.

Murph'ys Gold,
This review is from: Murphy's Gold (Paperback)
The title of the book is Myrphy's Gold, it is writen by Gary Paulsen, and it is a western.A woman calls the sheriff and says her husband is missing. The Sheriff goes to look and finds him dead. Then he goes out and revenges his death. This book was different from any other book that I read because it was a western where a man was killed. I liked this book. It was interesting because it was action packed and the Sheriff portrayed a character that was just a normal person. He is a very loyal person who wants to help out his town. One example is whenhe says "I'll find the man who did this but you won't have to pay." page 79. I really like the way the author wrote the book, because it is easy flowing and easy to read. I also liked the way the main character was used, because everyone in the town trusted him and whenever they had a problem they would talk to him. A good part of this book is that it is easy to read and short. A possible drawback is that it has some disgusting parts that might not be good for little kids to read. |
