A decent primer on muscle cars, September 20, 2005
This review is from: Muscle Cars (Hardcover)
This book features muscle cars from the beginning early 60s until the mid 70s, divided by manufacturer. The photography is generally very good. While this is a broad subject, and the book is coffee table format, the text occasionally has some errors in it. Also, a lot of the pictures feature cars that are slightly modified from original, which can be confusing if you are new to muscle cars. Many of the pictures appear to be from a couple of meets, when the photographer tried to obtain as many examples as possible, sometimes at the expense of authenticity and pristiness of the cars.
The book does do a good job in featuring the signature muscle cars of each major American manufacturer of the 60s and 70s. If you are looking for research-quality material and photos of original autos this is probably a little superficial, but this book makes an excellent primer if you are just getting in to muscle cars.
