Great study tool for high-schoolers to professionals,

These cards are a must for people in the health care fields. They are wonderfully made for the first-time learner and for the person who needs a review. The text includes origins, insertions (although proximal and distal insertions are more accepted), action, reversed origin-insertion action, nerve supply, and synergists. The drawings and text closely follow Netter and Moore.

Just started using these cards to prepare for an upcoming course and I know they will save me much time making my own. In addition, I've already learned all about the shoulder girdle (first section)! However, the only problem I have with this product is that it seemingly (I could be wrong but I'm pretty sur on this) does not include the muscles of the face. Despite that the product does have such a flaw I am sure my recent twenty dollar purchase is the best investment I have made in my studies yet!

I am taking an Anatomy class and these flash cards are fabulous. They are easy to look at and understand. I am just zipping through them and they have been a tremendous help in teaching me what I need to know.

Standard size. The cards have good decent illustrations. Muscles with more than one fiber direction are presented on multiple cards, so you really get to see each portion of the muscles up close. Origins and Insertions are included. It would be great if the cards were punched and little ring holders were included for each muscle group. The only thing lacking are actions. I wish they would have included the actions. That's why I couldn't give these 5 stars. For a Clinical Massage Therapist who doesn't do wellness bodywork, its so necessary to thoroughly know the muscle's actions in trying to figure out and isolate the structure that is having problems. Many Clinical Therapist only treat clients with specific problem, but the cards are good for all Therapist in all modalities and for Massage Therapist that have related professions; Massage Therapist/Personal Trainer, etc....
For me, I like the handy size of these, but I found using one of the muscle coloring books most helpful in really understanding fiber directions and muscle locations. It was something about having to color over the muscles that helped me. Netter has a good coloring book. These are useful study tools for the NCBTMB exam. I just finished reading an email. In 2011, NCBTMB will offer advanced cerification for Massage Therapist....no word yet on the cost of the exam.

This really helped me learn in my college Anatomy courses. I bought this used so some of the cards were missing, but otherwise I really found it useful. Saying origin, insertions, and functions.

This is a very good tool, but not so easy to use. It is good to study every body muscle, but not so good to quick consult.

I found these flash cards to be very disappointing. Maybe I just got a set that was misprinted, but I doubt it. The cards of the individual muscles were excellent, but not really helpful when you're taking a lab practicum because you are rarely presented with a single muscle to identify. There is usually a full body or a leg or an arm and so you need reference points to guild you such as deep or shallow or where amongst the other muscles the one you need to identify is located. They have cards like this, but, and this is my real beef with this system, they are not labeled. The front of the card has the full body picture with lines drawn pointing to each muscle, but no number on the line. On the back of the card each muscle name is listed by a number, but there is no number on the lines of the front of the card to match with the numbers on the back. This forces you to go to an outside source to be able to identify the muscles anyway, so hopefully you don't make a mistake in labeling them yourself and therefore studying wrong information.

Good for review, not so much for initial learning,

These cards are good for review maybe once you are working in the setting you dire but I would not recommend them for first time learning. Only because your book and these books may have different information of OIAN. One book may have one bone marking and these cards may name another or be too descriptive. They are good to look at the muscle and study but the information on the back could confuse you if you are trying to learn it for the first time, especially if your teacher tests straigh from the book.
